When you put yourself in the system as "unavailable
" for a specific day of the week permanently, it means they can't schedule you, correct? Not the same thing as a "regular day off"
If your "unavailable" for a specific day select "MyAvailablity" and select the day, remember to make the change permanent. If you do not make it permanent is looks like your basically submitting a request for one week.
I've been scheduled to work some days EVEN THOUGH it was marked permanant unavailability. I worked a couple just to be nice and figured it was a mistake. When it kept happening, I just stopped showing up. They got mad, but I had proof the unavailability was approved from before. They STILL got mad, but oh well
Schedule requests are suggestions not have to's. it's up to your store to honor employee requests or not to. My last store chose not to honor any one's schedule and they lost a ton of employees over it. You can try to file a union greivance with them but I doubt it'll do any good as people at my last location have tried it and failed.
Depends on your contract. In many areas, full timers are entitled to one set day off. If that is in your contract and they schedule you anyway, grieve it.
It took me 3 months of constant requests before our scheduler realized that I was NOT available on Saturdays. It would keep getting denied and I would keep requesting! Finally it happened.
