Most ppl in that thread don't know what they are talking about. Few of them are kroger workers - most are customers who are a part of "tribe" Kroger (My store is better than yours, don't question my judgment!)
Someone posted on Redditt that Feb 2 was the day and that they have had a "hit" list since last year. I was told by long term (35 years with company) former SM who retired before round of firings and has contacts with GO that this was happening soon.

That SM sounds familiar.. and what he is saying sounds right.. I think they will continue to get rid of more 6 figure managers.. - bring the base pay-scale down to 80-90 for larger stores and reduce it for smaller stores also with reduced bonus incentive packages amounts for everyone. GO will be cut I believe.

I'm not seeing the REdditt post - can you link it?

Its under the comments for the 2020 You Tube Videos post. Someone also posted about it on Layoff site.
This s about right - we were talking about it in our store-ASMs lay offs possibly end of January. We have an ASM taking vacation right now-hopefully she is on the hit list
"I was an executive at GO until I had to retire because of a serious health issue. These talks on staff reductions started in 2016. It was made clear to us a head count was not a head count. The per year reduction of salary, bonus and benefits was what was important not the head count reduction. They are definitely looking to terminate higher paid individuals."
The above posted in layoff site. The targets are long term higher paid Kroger management. It doesn't matter how good you are or how well your store is doing. Supposedly also a plan in place to get rid of long term department heads and other long term employees earning highest wages. Kroger will and probably has figured out how to do this regardless of union.

Yeah, I saw that post. Krogers war on its own ppl and wonder why its so hard to hire and retain new ppl.. When my spouse resigned we filled the Internet with bad reviews and warnings to anyone thinking about working for Kroger. And we will continue to do so.
"Round 2 is currently happening. Before the the fiscal year starts on February 2nd. No bonus payout and your officially off the books for budgeting for 2020. Anyone have any idea what the hell phase 3 is or could be?"
Above from layoff site. Anyone have confirmation if it's happening in your division or district yet? I'll post if I hear anything in my district.
I heard a rumor that one of our co's, who has worked in this store for like 3 or 4 years, has a meeting at corporate on Monday. Idk for sure if it's true. But if it is, i have a feeling he is getting chopped. Sad really, as he is a nice guy.
I've heard coworkers talking about more cuts happening soon. Said every store is going down to either 1 or 2 assistant store managers. Can't remember which. We have 3 right now though. They're all alright. I can't really choose which one I'd personally want to get rid of. I can't imagine Kroger would be able to get rid of other employees though, if they're part of the union... UNLESS they just really watch those employees and try their hardest to find some mundane rule they're breaking. Even then, they'd have to give them verbal and written warnings first. Interestingly enough we just had a huddle that a bunch of Kroger policies will be reiterated in the following weeks. Wonder if they're trying to get some people in shape before they're fired.

Not necessarily bad - My spouse survived the first round of layoffs and was also called in to be told how wonderful she was, along with many they kept - it was offsite in at a nice place.. - few months later it was "Be perfect or die" - spouse left. Even if they keep him it's utterly meaningless - It's more time to save money and look for another job.
