Hand sanitizers, cleaning wipes (when the regular wipes are pretty close to sold out people are buying the Huggies baby wipes), TONS of water. Same thing happening in your store? Panic buying in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area!
yep, all hand sanitizers are gone in my store. Had a lady complain when i told her we were out and say "ugh Kroger never orders enough!" Whatever lady..... We're OOS'ing a ton of cleaning supplies in Pickup....

RE: We are having a "Run" on certain products in my store
People are acting like if you get this Corona virus, it's a death sentence. Yes, some people have died from it, but people also die from the flu too. I'm just going to maintain my normal hygiene and do common sense things like washing my hands first thing when I walk in the door at home or before I eat or drink anything when I'm out in public. I'm certainly not going to sanitize my own home or car like many people when I'm the only one who uses them.
I seriously cannot figure out the run on water. I get it if you are expecting something that might make you lose power and you will need bottled water, but it's a virus. Anyone else ever have people come in and buy up a ton of water then after "the event" try to bring it back and return all of it?
No, but it'd be pretty stupid to buy a ton of bottled water and then, bring it back, as if it was not a precious commodity that others would gladly stock up on...Have we forgotten what happened in Flint, Michigan??? Some are STILL dealing with the aftermath of that! Everyone is buying up things like hand sanitizer and face masks, etc. NOW, but what about just buying something simple like MORE SOAP and washing your hands more frequently??? People freak out about stuff like this, but what about the next time??? And the time after that??? I remember when Y2K hit and some people wanted to return the generators they had just bought because they felt they didn't need them anymore...Why??? What part of planning for future catastrophes do they NOT understand??? Everyone thinks that once a problem goes away, they don't have to deal with it anymore...And then, when something bigger hits down the line, they'll complain that their local store is out of stock on the essentials when those SAME complainers should have been slowly stockpiling these things all along just in case??? If it's one thing I hate, it's "last-minute preparedness"!!! And then, you question why the store doesn't stock up enough when pandemonium breaks loose??? As if you are the only one whose needs the store should cater to and everyone else can just bite the dust!!! Absolutely NO COMMON SENSE and/or THINKING AHEAD anymore!!!
And now, because of that, you're seeing all these empty shelves in stores across the country...SMH!

OMG YES. They had buggies full of water at one of my old stores. It's water. You'll use it eventually!
Seattle are has been out of hand sanitizer for a couple weeks and it'll be in short supply until this virus runs it's course through the area. You probably won't see it stocked on the shelves again until late summer. The demand is higher than what the company can roll out. We had to move our sanitation wipes inside to keep people from stealing them. Take one? Sure I'll take the whole friggen stand! And that's why it's inside now. It's no different than if a natural disaster would happen. Grocery stores can be cleaned out in 48 hours if that. I'd rather be loading my car and heading out while people are mobbing the stores.
