We used to get about 20 or so crappy cable channels and now we get just the local stations plus 3 or 4 no name cable stuff
I guess it depends on where you are located. In my area (large city in midwest) we have directTV in the Kroger employee break room. As far as what is available to ordinary homes in our area,( if someone has NO cable and NO dish), we can get (with a decent amplified antenna, or good TV aerial) about 40 channels right over the air. There is actually a good variety of stations including all the local stations, some of the "cable type" channels that show older classic shows (like COSI, ANTENNA TV, ME-TV, GRIT, BOUNCE, MOVIES, also the game show channel called "BUZZR" which shows a lot of great older game shows, and lots of others.
Maybe it wouldn't satisfy the ones who want a lot of exclusive sports content, the Weather Channel, CNN news, brand new movies, and other special stuff, but it is FREE and enough for my taste.
I get a lot of my news on the internet anyway. GOOGLE NEWS has a big selection of headlines to scan, although they will target it to your assumed demographic, and lean it toward more liberal/progressive/leftist viewpoints if they can.
We have a tv that USED to get basic cable. But soon management started to watch Kroger training broadcasts on it and shortly after that a note was placed near the tv saying "this tv is for training purposes only and staff WILL NOT try to access outside channels."
Alot of us were p*used but there is nothing we can do.

You wouldn't be from Louisville, would you? I am and I get 41 over the air stations. I've deleted some of them like most of the shopping channles. I did keep QVC because I like to watch their Gourmet Holiday shows. I used to get more channels that I believe started with 50-1. There used to be a channel called Decades in that block. I miss that. Although I get BUZZR now on another channel, it's only on until about three or four o'clock in the afternoon. Then it switches to shopping Kentuckiana.

Yes, Louisville area. Here is a complete rundown of what is available OVER THE AIR!! However, some of these stations are rather weak and might (or might not) come in on your TV. I suppose it depends on how good your antenna is, and which way it is pointed to pick up the best signals.
It's a special sound-insulated room (but only at a VERY very few, VERY High-Falutin Kroger stores), located in a hidden area farther behind the main backroom, where employees are allowed to go in, shut the door, and scream at the top of their voices and break something (dishes, bottles, or something breakable that also makes a good crashing sound) to relieve some pent-up stress after they have reached their wit's end dealing with too many unreasonable customers. HOWEVER, they are only allowed in this room ONCE per month. BUT: they must pay for the breakable item (such as a glass florist vase) with their own money, and clean up their own mess afterward. And they can only do this at their own risk, no liability on Kroger.

That may sound farfetched but I remember seeing a story on tv about a business that actually allows you to do that. You put on protective gear and they give you a sledgehammer and put you in a room filled with things like old computers and tv sets and other things and give you so many minutes to smash stuff.

The reception for over the air TV has to do allot with the weather. The new cell 5 G can affect UHF TV signals. If your local TV station is Channel 4 the actual broadcast channel may be in the channel 14 and up UHF. This is just the way the new digital plan works. I saw the Antenna Box when they put the TV in the store I worked at. It is a Channel Master UHF 4228HD. They should have chose a VHF/UHF Combo because some stations are still VHF Hi. I do not know who Kroger get's to install these Antenna's they could be done right or could be done wrong but who knows. The stores that are further from stations may need a signal amplifier. But sometimes a close station will overdrive with a amplifier.

we have a tv, used to have satellite but they turned it off for some reason (I think because guys were spending too much time in the breakroom--on the clock-- watching sp0rts)
Also loved to tune it to fox news to trigger the old lady liberals

I have never heard of a Kroger store to have Satellite or cable. Maybe it was just a trail in some stores to see how it goes. But Satellite you have a 2 year contract. Maybe not if they got several stores on one bill the agreement was for a trial but I doubt.
But Satellite would be better because several stores could be on one bill and it be cheaper. Different towns have different cable companies.
But it's a primitive smart tv (without wifi). On the few days I'd get a lunch, I'd watch a show off a thumb drive. And sometimes let it loop because my co-workers aren't smart enough to change it.
I think it's more interesting that management stole the tables and couches out of our break room and that we couldn't do anything about it, to be honest.
I also really love basketball and Im ready to spend my hours watching basketball on TV for several hours in a row. I also like to play it sometimes with my friends who are constantly amazed at my professionalism and ask how it works out for me. I answer them, that I read the site bballworld.com/best-indoor-basketball/ and it really helps. There are a lot of different lessons and guides in which the process is described to the smallest detail. I just like this site for that, I advise you to read it
