What happens if a co-worker gets the virus?

If one of your co-workers gets the corona virus, would your entire department get shut down, and all of the other employees be sent home to quarantine? Or would the entire store have to be shut down for a certain period of time? I'm just wondering if corporate has a plan for something like that. If so, what is it?

I've been worried about this myself...One of my co-workers, a bagger, was crushing some cardboard at the bailer and had this hacking cough...He said it was just an allergy cough and I know he's had health problems in the past, so I don't doubt him, but he didn't use his sleeve to cough into...Fortunately, I was at least 6 feet away when he did this, but it's made me leery to touch the baler without some gloves on for protection...

I asked my co-manager this same question...What if it's a customer who is OBVIOUSLY coughing and looks sick? She didn't have an immediate answer as to what we would do or if the store would have to be shut down...Fortunately, we have a good SM who gets how sensitive this stuff is for everybody, but I do wish we had more plans in place to prevent the spread...Will we all need to wear masks at our jobs at some point? Do we have enough gloves and cleaning supplies? I worry about bringing this virus home to family members and urge everyone to take this threat seriously!

I certainly hope Kroger has a plan...Look at the Big Three automakers...They've decided to temporarily shut down their production plants due to the fact that they couldn't keep everyone safe enough...

One wonders...how safe are WE???

All I can say is that I'm taking as many of the safety precautions as I can and not taking anything for granted...Using gloves, practicing social distancing as much as I can and cleaning surfaces is part of the plan...And it's not always easy! I'm doing the same things at home and keeping my immunity and health up as much as possible...We all have to do what we can during this crisis...I have a feeling that things will never be the same again, too...So, let's be kinder to one another and help each other when we can within strict guidelines, of course...

We all use the same time clock. So if one employee gets it then we all become exposed and we would all have to go into quarantine. So wouldn't the entire store have to be shut down if any employee gets the virus?

Many of our cashiers prefer to cough and sneeze directly into their hands or right onto the keyboard.  If any of them catch something, the entire front end, management, and maybe a departments gets it too.

If one of them gets the rona, it could take out a quarter of the store.  Maybe more if they contaminate the time clock.

As hilarious as that would be, then they'd make me cashier, and then I would catch it and die from a preexisting condition.  ****.
