This article gives you an idea of how easily the virus spreads. Last month in Washington, there was a choir practice with 60 members. Even though they all used hand sanitizer when they entered, and didn't do any hand shaking or hugging, somebody in the choir unknowingly had the corona virus, and now 45 of the 60 choir members are infected. Two of them have already died. If it spreads that easily with a group of people who thought they were being careful, just think how quickly it will spread among all of the Kroger employees that have to work side by side for 8 hours per day. Not to mention the thousands of customers, and the air that is constantly being recirculated throughout the store. Corporate needs to get ahead of this problem before it starts happening. Some drastic changes need to be implemented for the way every store operates. Tape on the floor, signs on the service counters, and pizzas in the break room won't save us.

I'll stop coming to work after I'm sick and get tested positive for it. If we were expendable before, we're even more expendable now that a large chunk of the population is out of a job. I don't care about hazard pay (which, by the way, is what this bonus check we're getting is; it's just not spread out over weeks through a $2/hr raise that people keep bringing up), and I haven't changed anything, taking worthless precautions, to try to keep myself from getting this virus. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've used hand sanitizer in my entire life and I very rarely get germ sick, so I don't fear this new bug. If I get sick, oh well. I wouldn't mind a couple weeks off.

Youre gonna regret that arrogance if the symptoms are not mild. You shouldnt chance it.

I don't want to seem arrogant, but i'm doing the same as that anon. I hope I don't get sick obviously but i'm not living in fear of this thing either. For now, I am going to work every day same as I did before this thing came around. I am a little nervous, sure, but i can't afford to not work either, and i'm not going to sit at home as long as i'm able to work.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it isn't if but when I get the virus. I think pretty much everyone will get it at some point. My sister is a nurse. She said it's really scary because there is still so much unknown with this virus. Their taking all the precautions they can but it is still unknown if it is enough. Everyone is just hoping when they get it, it will be the mild form. If not the mild form then at least the one that doesn't kill you.

According to the latest statistics, in over 80% of the reported cases, the person experienced mild symptoms. The keyword here is "reported". There's going to be a lot of people who show no symptoms at all and therefore don't get tested. Also the death rate is much lower than what was previously reported because people who showed few or no symptoms weren't taken into account. The people that have to be careful are the ones with poor immune systems. That includes the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions.

I also thought that people who smoke, have asthma, or other lung related issues have more serious cases.

Has no one mentioned wearing masks and gloves??? It may not totally protect you, but it's better than nothing...

Also, Walmart is limiting the amount of people coming into their stores...5 people per 1,000 square feet of store space...With most Walmarts at 180,000 square feet, I figure that's 900 people in a store at any one time...

Meijer here in Michigan is checking employee temperatures before they come in the door...Plus, doing health questionnaires...If you've traveled anywhere outside the country recently, you go home for 14 days...If you're deemed sick, you also go home, that's it!

Companies are NOT playing anymore, and we'll probably see MORE of this kind of thing as time goes on...It'll be interesting to see how Kroger keeps up with the competition...
