Terrible seeing these young and otherwise vulnerable people falling into the hands of this gang. The pandemic will be over soon. The harm caused by signing away your rights can be permanent. You can do so much better.
Dear god no do not apply to this job. You're a minimum wage yes answering slave and you'll be treated like s-hi-t for half your life. You'll be over worked, under paid, treated like you're stupid half the time, held back career wise, have no future promotional opportunities, prior education/knowledge/work experience means squat with this company. Customers will mouth off at you and you could so much as look at someone wrong and offend them to who knows how far. You'll be working with the general public and the general public is stupid, incompetent selfish, self centered fools who can't tell the difference between left and right. Then you'll get the opposite where people are so self centered they think you're better than you and act like total self centered haughty snobbish @$$ holes to make their point. I found only 15% of the general public are decent human begins. F-u-c-k the rest. New hires got screwed contract wise and you'll have have the rights you would have at a normal job. Dear god don't apply for this job unless you need a paycheck now sort of situation. There are a million and one jobs out there that will treat you a thousand times better.
Your coworkers will vary from hard working to lazy slobs. Most of us have thrown in the towel and don't give two s-hi-ts about the job any more because we've given up and just don't care due to years of mental abuse. (That's me). We'll do the bare minimum and leave every day. There will always be some one in the group you just can't stand and for what ever reason they decide to pick on you extra hard like they're you're b-i-t-ch. For the most part people do tend to get along but you'll find that you can't make friendships in a company where coworkers longevity is 1-3 years at best. Tis the nature of the job. I work(ed) with a lot of coworkers who should have been fired years ago but they some how get to keep their job year after year and continue to do a half assed job.
Some stores are better at adhering to policies and procedures while others suck @$$ at doing it. You'll have your good managers and lazy ones. Any one slightly good at an fes position will be quickly promoted and moved around. If they've been doing it a while chances are they're either a) riding the lazy path of sucess or b) totally incompetent at the job.
The union has it's pros and cons. And if you need them to stand up for you it'll take a long @$$ time to get things right. They do also give you a binning contract that states your rights but it does also come at a cost.
