So I took a week off to self quarantine And was using a vacation week after that. I was told by the head honcho I couldnt take an unpaid leave and had to Use my vacation time. I was off a week. They said they put it in. A day before Im sent to return I get a letter from the head of HR over my division stating my leave of absence ends tomorrow. However they mentioned nothing of my vacation and if they used it or not. The HR site for pay and schedule updated today and it still has all 80 of my hours. could this be because I asked the union why id have to burn through vacation in April and that it defeated the entire purpose really of self quarantine?

No you don't but it is a payment option. I thought kroger changed their policy on covid and allowed two weeks paid for quarantine "IF" you are diagnosed positive with it. If you want to take it off because you are high risk you must have dr's note stating you are. If you're high risk with some health conditions that shouldn't be an issue as you probably require frequent check ups.

it has been in effect a few weeks now that if a doctor gives you a stay-at-home recommendation you get up to 2 weeks paid leave and maybe even more as a disability claim

this is through kroger

if you're on kroger's insurance there is something called 'engage' (you might be able to get there thru feed or thru mylifeatkroger.com

you can get a video chat with a doctor

you definitely dont have to use your pto before the 2 weeks paid leave but idk all the details or how to go about it

you dont have to be diagnosed with coronavirus... that used to be the policy but it was hard for people to get an actual test

if a doctor tells you to stay at home i believe thats sufficient, call your division's hr tho

Sounds like you ****ed up.

Either it's unpaid leave, or paid leave with a doctor's note of some flavor.  You didn't get one.

So they gave you unpaid leave, and forgot about that there vacation part.

They probably figured (rightly or wrongly) that you were trying to take some time off so you don't get sick and die, except you wanted some paid time after that.  Crazy, right?  So, they had to stick their dick in there.

And they ****ed you.  Raw.  Dirty.

See you at work, bud.  Union LOL pay up bitch.
