Today, I was at work and my coworker was standing doing nothing for long periods of time for 3 hours straight. She was supposedly wiping down baskets as the courtesy clerk brought them in. Thats ok to wipe baskets down but when theres nothing left to wipe down, you can do something else. Kroger is a trash ass company with trash ass management.
They're supposed to be wiping them down and offering them to each customer. There's no cart wipes so what she's doing IS NOT optional. Someone has to be there from the time to doors open until the time the doors close.
Thats BS, because the hand baskets and riding carts dont get wiped down and she wasnt even offering the baskets to the customers. Additionally, we have a lot of reshop that doesnt get disinfected. If we are busy, you can help bag while you wait for more baskets to come in. Thats a waste of time standing for 40 minutes per hour doing nothing. As a 17 year old male, I noticed Kroger is just trash ass company once I graduate high school I will never shop here.

Can you give the store number where this happened? Such as 654, etc.
They NEED to have DESIGNATED people at the front door. One to sanitize carts, hand baskets, and mart carts as needed, and one to count customers as they enter and leave the store. Pulling courtesy clerks from the front end to serve those two purposes is BEYOND stupid. We need our cc's up front to bag, return items, do carry outs, (although one NEVER asks anymore,) sweeps, price checks, carts, etc But suggest to them they hire bbn someone to do door duty and sanitize carts comes out as "fhyfguyffhhcf ftuggj" to their ears.

That's the Kroger management language. Any problem you try to address to them is always translated like that.
Just today we had 2 designated people (I'm shocked) working the front door; one on sanitation detail, the other on counting. Well, both went to lunch at the SAME time. I was scheduled cc for today and the last 10 minutes someone decided to ask me "who is on door duty?" I shrug and say "I have no clue." (I did actually, but i didn't want to say names because they'd have me over there...and i am NOT scheduled for that). Well, long story short, apparently not knowing was the "wrong" answer and our counts got messed up so we had well over the allottedmpeople.allowed in our store at that time

Favoritism is in all the stores. Some stores just show it more heavily. You can always file ethic reports if you feel it is against Kroger's ethics. If you apply to a job you must be able to do 'ALL" of the job duties required. If you notice one employee is being treated differently than another then you can file an ethics report if it's a serious enough violation or a repeating violation. I filed a lot last year and I think it got our store manager fired. Oh, well his fault for turning a blind eye and ignoring the situations.
Say for example we have several employees have light duty due to off the job injuries. Well according to Kroger that's a no no. If I ever get injured off the job and they tell me I can't work I'll file a complaint. I am keeping a log so if they argue with me I have it all in writing. My store is so desperate for help they'll bend the rules to keep staff coming in. Even if it's not a good idea.
