According to the union this is an illegal firing. With or without the union. The employee could sue for wrongful termination. The only exception might be if they choose to just stop showing up to work without a dr's note or failed to file fmla paper work. Kroger has covid policies and procedures. If you get ordered to go into self quarantine by a dr then this applies. If people are just scared stupid and say no more work my life's not worth it then they need to request a fmla leave or just quit. Try to get fired because you'll qualify for unemployment. If you just up and quit you won't qualify.

Unemployment comp is NOT guaranteed-if Kroger decides to fight your claim! My last employer before Kroger fought me-I had a lawyer with me (and her assistant who was a law school student) and we won!

If you needed to take a 14 day self-quarantine, did you get tell your MGMT or take the companies COVID-19 2 week leave? If MGMT doesn't know, it would be NCNS, how would they know if not told? If you had a Dr. note or anything other documents, KMA HR I believe would reinstate you very easily without too much trouble.

Too many times Associates thought they would be slight and do something, then regret it. Associates would come up with some random excuse to try and get their jobs back. If you have a job, you should be responsible enough to follow the process or policy. Just because one person told you something, does not always make it policy or that it really happened. If you go on any leave, HR will send you some kind of form or paper indicating your on an Office Leave and other useful information on it.

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm under quarantine for a few days...I got tested for COVID-19 today and my doctor is giving me notes for the days I need to be out...If you get a doctor's note, you shouldn't have to worry...I get doctor's notes for everything and with all that is going on right now, it's not a good idea to be taking chances with your health!
