Ours close at 6pm or 7pm at the latest. Any calls to floral after that are ignored. We have a sign that clearly states in bold letters what the hours are. About out of every 200 customers understand that. The rest finally catch on when they finally realize no one is coming over and they finally leave.
When ever the last floral clerk leaves for the day. Our floral shift is generally 8a-1p or 8-430 after that its' produce. Produce needs to be brought up to speed or they need to cross train a few stocking clerks to blow up balloons and wrap flowers. It's really not that difficult. Have no skill in organizing flowers. Just cut open the package place on paper and wrap.
Our produce NEVER goes to floral once its closed. Phone calls for floral NEVER get answered once its closed. Customers loose their sh*t and go bananas. If they would read the sign....but they rarely read the signs posted, get mad, insult cashiers and baggers, and if said cashiers and baggers stand up for themselves the customers get showered with gift cards and the employees they yelled at are forced to apologize. If they dont they get a SIR.
