Sure, everyone's wearing gloves, masks and standing six feet apart in the grocery store...But there's one way people are spreading germs and they might not even realize it...THIS!
Customers think sanitizing the gloves will take care of the gloves. NO. This does not work. Gloves are contaminated the minute they touch something. You can not sanitize gloves!
In food prep gloves are good for one tasks and that's it. Would you put on plastic gloves, clean a raw chicken, use hand sanitizer then move onto the salad? No. You'll give your self salmonella that way. In a kitchen you would do salad first, wash hands, new prep station then move onto raw meats. Same idea with gloves. People put on gloves then start touching everything. They become contaminated with the first touch. The customers are spreading the germs around worse than before because they are washing their hands less.
I stopped cleaning the check stands after every customer the day they cut our hero pay. I also got tired of verbal harassment from customers for 3+ agonizing months. Thanks @$$ holes.
