Kroger is switching there in-store audio partner to Vibenomics from In Store Audio Network. Installation will start June 1 in stores and continue for 4-6 weeks.
So? This doesn't really seem to be a big deal.....unless they are only going to play elevator music. In reality, I'm surprised they play mainstream music and pay the royalties. Having some no-name bands playing some upbeat, relaxing music is all you need. In reality they only install the speakers to be able to play advertisement and make some easy $$$.
Finally Quiet! Yes! Our store has the volume too loud because we have a hard of hearing manager. The rest of us generally have a headache at the end of the day because of this.
I usually hear a few tunes that I like if I'm not to focused on something, such as when things slow down, or if I'm at the back dock getting the cleaning cart ready, chucking trash, or throwing cardboard into the baler when I'm putting up supplies. But on the sales floor the ambiance drowns out the radio pretty good and I can tune out the music if I feel like it. Either way it doesn't matter.

"4-6 weeks"? Is that gonna be a "trial period" to decide if Kroger is going to stick with the new service? Sounds good to me. I hope they have a better playlist. At least not as repetitious....
I hate the In Store Audio Network. Everyday I have to hear the awful song "I don't want to fight no more" (is that Tina Turner?) and that horrible un-musical SCREECH she does about halfway through the song. FIngernails on a blackboard never sounded better. Lately, they play DRIFT AWAY every single day too. And LIDO SHUFFLE by Boz Scaggs. Lots of others I hear every stinkin' day but not sure about the name of the song or the "artist".
Well, knowing Kroger, it most likely is happening to save money. That's my suspicion. I am open for anyone to prove me wrong.
Another thing that will be VERY INTERESTING is if they will make many noticeable changes to the advertisements........ like, are we going to continue with the ads for cherries, and Duracell, and Avocados from Mexico, Forever postage stamps, etc? Are we going to get a whole new roster of annoying "Please wash your hands and sanitize your work area" except they will be read by new/ different voice artists from the new audio company??

Who remembers KRGR Kroger Radio? I liked that many years ago!
I remember it very well and the jingle that went with it..."Krogeradiooooo"...And scrolling digital signage advertising various specials in-store...Of course, this was a few decades ago...

Back in the day, they had equipment that allowed STR MGMT to record in-store messages, so some Department Leaders had the privilege of being recorded, promoting a few sales items. One good part of working the service desk at that time was the main phone, it overrode all other store phones and could ended the recording and or others making a page. You learned not to "knock off" the STR MGMR when they were paging something.

Hello OP.......... exactly what do you mean by "installation will start". Do you mean that the sound system will be upgraded over all stores (and take about 4 to 6 weeks to do that?) before all Kroger stores are actually broadcasting the new music service over their sound system??? OR do you mean that Kroger will quickly switch over to the new service officially on June 1, and then continue to broadcast the new music service into all Kroger stores for about 4 to 6 weeks thereafter.
Your post doesn't really sound very clear to me. Please explain. Thank you.
So, can anyone report that their particular store has switched over yet to Vibenomics? Just wondering. From the OP post, I assume they will take up to a month & a half to switch all Kroger stores to the new music audio feed.
It shouldn't be difficult to tell....... any of you who are intimately familiar with the In store audio Network playlist (for your store) because you can't help but have to listen to it all day every day (usually employees in the perishable depts who have less "front end/cash register noise" to block it out) should be able to detect the change after listening to 1 or 2 consecutive songs, 3 at the very most (so within about 10 minutes or less). Also, please let us know if they have some new and interesting ad spots to charm us with!

OP, is this FAKE NEWS?
My head is about to explode from the constant repeated reminders to social distance, clean our work station and wash our hands. After hearing those recordings, for about 1000 times or more, it's time for them to GO! And the same ole same ole same ole songs. And now there is a new ad spot that starts off with a sudden, strange scratchy sound, (like the audio tech was working their first day on the job and didn't edit the clip quietly and smoothly), followed by some kind of product promotion.
HELP!!!!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
