It might slow down the spread of the virus but it won't completely stop it because it's being spread among family members living in the same household.  The only way to stop the virus would be if everyone in the world didn't go anywhere for the next 3 weeks.  Hospital workers would have to stay where they were whether it be at work or at home to keep from bring the virus home to their families.  Ambulance drivers and EMTs could only make one run at a time before having to quarantine themselves.  This could all be about thinning out the population.  Afterall, a big component of evolution is survival of the fittest.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV)  Kroger announced Wednesday they will require all customers to wear a mask to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The mask requirement begins on July 22. The grocery chain's employees have already been ordered to wear facial coverings and will continue to do so.

Kroger released the following statement to FOX 17 News on Wednesday:

"With the increase in COVID-19 cases across the countryas Americas grocerwe are committed to doing our part to help reduce the spread of the virus.

 

"Krogers most urgent priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been to provide a safe environment for our associates and customers while meeting our societal obligation to provide open stores, ecommerce solutions and an efficiently operating supply chain so that our communities have access to fresh, affordable food and essentials.

"As an employer, grocery provider and community partner, we have a responsibility to help keep our associates, customers and communities safe. According to the CDC, wearing a facial covering, combined with social distancing and frequent handwashing, has been scientifically proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Starting July 22, we will require all customers in all locations to wear a mask when shopping in our stores, joining our associates who continue to wear masks. We are taking this extra step now because we recognize additional precautions are needed to protect our country.

"We respect and acknowledge that some customers, due to medical reasons, may not be able to wear a mask (small children are exempt). We encourage those customers to consider an alternative option like a face shield or facial covering. If theyre unable to wear a mask or an alternative design, we request that they use our ecommerce services like pickup or delivery. To support all households during the COVID-19 pandemic, our grocery pickup service remains free (generally a $4.95 fee).

"We thank our associates and customers for partnering with us to slow down the spread of COVID-19.

Kroger's announcement comes just hours after Walmart and Sam's Club issued their own mask mandate for stores.

No people who cannot wear a mask are more vulnerable and they should stay home or use curbside. I don't know what to say about children they really should. If the children are gonna run around like monkeys they should stay home with someone of course.

It's NOT old news. It's coming company wide next Wednesday. Sure lots of stores already have required masks because of state or local requirements but Georgia isn't like that. Gov Kemp banned local gov't from enacting their own requirements. 

I'm curious who they put at the door to enforce this.  I can't see putting a c. clerk out there.

"Our" Kroger employs a rent-a-cop that stands inside near the exit-entrance door,  usually.
Don't know if they'd use him or someone else.
I'm almost tempted to wait and then go in without a mask and see what happens.
It makes me wonder if they are going to close off our Starbucks door entrance near the deli section.
Because someone could just walk through there and not be "checked" for mask.

No, I won't wear a mask, and if that means waiting until all this is "over" before I return to Kroger, so be it.

I'm not sure if our Kroger has returned to 24/7 or not. I don't think so. 
But if it did it makes me wonder what would happen if you went in at say 11 p.m. without wearing a mask.

 

That's going to be an interesting job to do for $7.50 - $9.00 an hour.
