We have always been told by our deli managers that we are not allowed to substitute pieces on the 8 piece chicken. Sometimes a customer will ask if they can for example get extra breasts instead of the legs. When we tell them no substitutions, they say "they did it last time" or "the other store does it for me". When we still say no, they complain to a comanager who then makes us do it to avoid the customer complaining. Why have rules if management is so afraid of getting complaints?

lol. I would be tempted to tell them, "Well, the other store was KFC."
Reminds me of when a customer swears they bought it at my Kroger. I think to myself, "Not possible, Great Value is a Walmart store brand."
The family meal box/pac/whatever was discontinued months ago. Sometimes an enterprising a$$ociate takes down the sign. Kroger puts it right back up. Not sure why.
Co-managers override dept head managers any day of the week at any time. Yes, you may be loosing money but sometimes they do not n.v see it that way. Sometimes they think "To make money, you must loose money."
So basically nothing can be done if a co-manager tells you to do it. If they say give Karen Complainer 2 8pc chickens for free, she is going to get those 8pc chickens for free.
I'm assuming when you said co manager you meant the store and bot the dept?
