I have barely been with Kroger for a month. Things started off great and for the most part things still are, however, I'm having issues with one particular supervisor. She makes it very apparent she hates her job and she can't handle the stress level. Today she made a mistake and tried to take it out on me and had the audacity to backhand me hard across the stomach. It didn't hurt, but someone needs to teach her to keep her hands to herself. Not sure if it's worth pressing the issue. They'd sooner get rid of me before her anyway since I'm still new.
Its up to you, but I would press the issue. However if you are new (are you past your probation), you may find yourself "seeking new employment" its wrong to do that yes.
She had NO right to strike you. Talk to your store director.
If she feels free to do this, the next person she does this to, may feel free to return the favor and do it back to her.
Nobody should ever strike another employee no matter whether it hurt or not. It's grounds for immediate dismissal. It happened at my store. A supervisor slapped another employee on the back of the head. A customer saw it and reported it. That supervisor was gone before the day was over.

If your a man and you hit me, on purpose, I'm gonna deck you. If your a female, count your lucky stars because I don't hit women, but ill give you a shove to push you back.
File an ethics report and say her attitude is way out of line for an individual of authority. I've done it before when our fes was being a dick for no apparent reason. Turns out they had some personal issues going on. They took it out on others while on the clock. A quick investigation and some coaching from management ended it. Yea they were super pissed at me for a week but in time it ended rather than having to come to work every day worrying about someone being an @$$ hole to you. Not knowing if one little thing would set them off.
I would go ahead and file a police report first, then Ethics Point. They may be terminated from the store after the police report-EP takes 5-7 days to respond and that is a long lead time in a situation where there was physical assault. You might also think of contacting a lawyer if you are inclined to sue the individual.
