clicklist and deli

I was just curious about how to handle clicklist in the deli.   When you are the only clerk and have a lot of customers at the counter (at least 3 or more) and a lot of clicklist orders due at one time, and the clicklist clerks are waiting, which comes first?  I have been told both - counter comes first and clicklist comes first.  If I work on clicklist, the customers at the counter get upset about waiting.  If I work on the customers, clicklist people get upset.  It seems I am wrong whatever I do.  Oh, and why isn't grab & go done?

We just had this argument at my store and I was told click list comes first over customers in the store. I want to ask our DM about it

As a clicklist lead, i want to say clicklist comes first but as a former deli/bakery i feel your pain. We wouldn't HAVE this problem if they would schedule enough people, give enough hours, or have people actually stick around and not quit after 2 weeks.

Honestly i don't think there IS a good answer, because clicklist customers ARE customers too...... and they've already placed the order which would mean they were there "first" but good luck telling a customer waiting at the counter that...
it's a mess either way. :(

More of this.  Multi-task and never make cusomers wait.  Kroger wants to see what they can get away with, always.

Whatever your immediate supervisor says is the rule right then is the "solution" you have.

Do the Clicklist orders have the times that they need to be ready?  Do the Clicklist orders that are due right away first.  Then, if you're working on orders for later and a customer walks up, stop and wait on the customer and then go back to your Clicklist orders.  There's no reason the deli should have to prepare all the Clicklist orders for the day at one time.  If the Clicklist people don't like making more than one trip, that's too bad.  I do it all the time in the bakery department.  I go in at 5:00 AM.  At 6:00 AM Clicklist people are asking me for stuff.  I always tell them to come back in two or three hours.  I don't care if they don't like it.  You can't make bread proof and bake any faster than it wants to.

Don't you know what the Deli Pickup items hours before the customer pickup time? If you have customers and Pickup orders items and by yourself, I would suggest using two slicers. When getting items for the customer in front of you, also get the 2nd slicer ready with a Pickup item. After finishing with the customer in front of you, tell the next customer you will be right with them and slice 1 one of the Pickup items, continue like this until done or no customers at the Deli counter.

Yes, if a Pickup Associate is asking for items hours ahead of the due time, tell them to come back or take a number! Also, if you have customers in line, you could always write down their order and note their number and then just cut them in order without them looking over your shoulders and tell them to come back in 10-15 mins. You would also get away with cutting some Pickup item without anyone sharing you down.

In reality, I don't understand why they haven't change the Deli counter process. Wall off the Deli case, make a small area to take orders and then tell customers to come back in 15-20 mins. Customer get pissed for waiting, but there isn't any other process to cause them not to wait (unless they place the order on the app).

Nope, sounds like you get it.  The only real answer is that whatever you do is wrong, but if you are lucky, you might be able to make up for it by purposefully doing a terrible job.

Upfill every day or whatever teh slogan is this week.  Sure.
