My husband, who works at a test store for the zebra, says "They suck".
There really are not test store, these locations are just the 1st to have these items rolled out. They just say "Test Stores" to get the associate excited, but their input isn't wanted.

I hate them with a passion. I constantly get error messages from them. The letters on the touch screen keyboard are too small. I have to be very precise when entering my EUID and password. They're not intuitive at all. The worst part is the touch screen. It doesn't respond. I like actual buttons like those that are on the RF units. Sometimes I'll have to tap a menu selection a dozen times or more because the machine won't pick it up, even if I use the tip of my pinky finger and go straight down on to the screen. The other day I was scanning out some stuff to donate. Normally it would only take 10 minutes using the old RF unit. Using the new Zebra device it took me 45 minutes. Only Kroger could come up with a way to make a task harder and more time consuming than it should be. Another thing I've noticed is if you set it up to do a certain task and you don't scan or do anything, it will go back to the main menu after just a few seconds. That's a real pain too because then you have to start all over.
Yeah, they fooled us with the robotic floor scrubbers. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
I will have to find a stylus cause my fat fingers won't handle the touch screen very well.

And another thing, they're awkward to use especially when you have to scan something and then use the touchscreen after each item you scan.

The robotic scrubbers sound like a great idea, but only if they are able to love freely. With these machines having a set patch, building one display makes the expense pointless.
