Does ANYONE know the policy for being scheduled on days that are unavailable for non-union stores?
Because after talking to my store manager and my own front end manager- both of whom approved my schedule changed AND its approved in eschedule as well- I still seem to be getting scheduled on days Im unavailable.
its getting ridiculously frustrating.
im getting ready to start school, Im working two damn jobs- getting realllll tired of this ****.
Not only am I being scheduled on days I cant come in, they have me doing a shift thats WAY out of my available times for when I CAN work.
Im not union, so I cant just go to the union for this.
Do I even have a leg to stand on? If this shot was approved WHY am I going through this **** time and time again?
And if they didnt want to approve it, they shouldnt have! But they did, so wtf do I gotta do to get this **** to ****ing stop?!
Then why approve this shift change? Why bother even changing it in the first place? Am I really going to have to jeopardize one job just to satisfy the other?
They approved the change. I told my other boss. You can NOT **** with my other job and just expect me to just show up anyways.
Going in first thing tomorrow and asking what the hell is up.
Shouldnt have approved something they werent gonna hold themselves to. Should have just said no in the first place.
Even if you aren't in the union doesn't mean you can't go to the union, your request just won't have priority - you're still covered.
If you're unable to make it then you're unable to make it - as long as you notify them ahead of time that there is a schedule conflict and your availability WAS approved then the only thing they can do is cry about it. It's not something you can be fired over as long as you have proof that your availability was indeed approved.

You are working for a bad company. It may be lazy dumb carelessness, they may be testing your reaction, or actually want you to quit. Do what you need to do and give this job the priority it deserves and no more. Sooner or later you will be moving on from this.
Just get a copy of your approved original availability (make extra copies if needed), get a copy of your school schedule and follow your class schedule. If Kroger makes a fuss, show them your approved availability and school schedule.
The store is allowed to write the schedule based upon the needs of the business. Meaning they can write the schedule to allow business to flow regardless of schedule positions. Non union? Sorry you're as valuable as any non union job and they do not have to listen to schedule restrictions. Though they can keep staff longer if they do. Note: kroger is one of the worst companies to work for with schedule restrictions.

They try and mess up my availability from time to time EVEN THOUGH it CLEARLY states what my availability is. I just work my availability much to their chagrin.
