So i called in sick 2 days ago. I was gonna come back the next day because I work 2am so I had to call in the morning to confirm my call in. Manager asked me if I was going to get tested. Didnt seem in a good mood. I said well I never thought about it. Then he asked again if I was going to get tested, so I told em Ill call my doctor but Ill probably be in tomorrow. Call my doctor and of course he suggests it. so I go online and register at cvs. Results take 3-4 days. I tell my boss this. She calls me angrily and destroys cvs. Tells me I can get a rapid at the med express. (hello co pay of $75 which I did today) so she says the manager insisted he told me I didnt have to get a test. I never said he told me to either. I told her what I said here.
so now I had to pay for a test that was going to be free because she kept texting me and called me that a negative test result isnt covered and it will go against attendance and said she didnt want me to get written up. And no Ive never been written up in about 7 years the time Ive been there. So now Im out money and patience for not going with my free scheduled test to basically underline threatened with a write up if I missed 4-5 days.

So he asked you once "Are you gonna get tested?" You said "Well I never thought about it". He asked again "Are you gonna get tested?" Why the hell did he ask again if you answered him?
And they destroy CVS? They were mad because you used a competitor. If you had already paid $75.00 I would have went with that. Ask them if they would miss you that bad. Tell them you will be out until you get the results and that is that. If they say anything say suck it up buttercup. I had a manager keep texting me once and I blocked his ass. And then I told my supervisor off for giving out my number. I actually took my number out of the book they keep at customer service. Because people were calling at 11pm at night or 12 am midnight asking me to go in at 7 am. I got tired of that crap and scratched my number out. Now I am glad I am out of that place.
Rapid tests are sometimes false negative, especially if you have only been sick for a day. Of course regular tests are often false positive, but whatever. Point is, boss needs to stop playing doctor.
Michigan division here. Missing work for COVID testing, quarantine, or diagnosis does not equate to a write up. In fact, you can get up to two weeks PTO in sobb no e cases.
Plus you cant return to work until three days after a negative if youve been in contact with Rona. My whole dept got sent home, they sent us home now wont pay us emergency leave. Making people with vacation or sick use own time and if you dont you are supposed to get emergency pay, hahahahaha twice now I havent been paid a freaking dime! Im the manager so my guess calledunion and got paid but not me, while Fred Meyers tells the customers how there taking care of us. Uh no! Been short staffed for a couple years at couple different stores.. hr always seems to be on vacation when they just told us there hiring 100 people, well news flash stores been low on regular employees so long there wasnt any need for seasonal
