I have heard the term when describing a last chance to keep job.
Let's say a person went thru all the stages of write-ups. Had a 3 day suspension. Called in 2 more time and were supposed to be terminated. They are given one last chance to keep their job.
HR, the union, the employee and the store manager is usually involved. I imagine the person has 90 days to go without calling in. There should be an expiration date on the agreement.
I think it really depends on the situations and what happened. In most situations, they will not use this agreement against someone that has been an "ideal" associate for 6+ months or if something minor happened. If this agreement was because of attendance, you better show up to work and show everyone your trying to get better and care.
