My mom has 24 hours or so left. I lost full time status a couple of weeks ago due to being out with strep which fell into two pay periods. Im getting full time hours but I dont know how time off for family death works. Will it count against me? I dont want to be permanently part time.
Depends on your contract. No, it should not count against you. Speak with the store manager about it or a Union steward.
In my contract, we are allowed 3 paid scheduled days off up to and including the day of the funeral. You can request more days off if it is out of town. Up to the store manager.
Also, under my contract, to keep full time status, we have to average 36 hours a week.
