I just got hired to work at Kroger. But I’m not sure which position would be best for me?

I am in my early 30s and I just got hired to work at Kroger. When I did the interview the manager asked me if I wanted to do Deli, bagger or cashier. I went back and forth between Deli and bagger. I said Deli then when I spoke to the manager she told me she had bagger and Deli open. So I said bagger because I know someone who works in Deli and they hate it. Tomorrow I am going in to Sign paper work. If a cashier position is open I think I will take that one. After reading everything a bagger has to do.

Do you think she will have an issue with me saying I want to be a cashier? Also I am not really good at math do I need to be in order to be a cashier?

Na, you don't really need to be good at math. You need a decent memory, quick hands, and the ability to count to 100.

Baggers usually make less money. Deli is a terrible department.

Delis are not all exactly the same, but it is very busy and chaotic.  Must be everywhere at once doing everything faster with no training.  Sometimes boring but you can always clean stuff while on the lookout for customers.

If you can handle cashier in this company you will have the admiration of many, including probably your next employer.  Looks hard but if they train and support you as you gain experience it could be okay.

Interested to learn anything you can share about the "paperwork".  Please read carefully, think first, and steal/share what you can.  Never trust this company.

I also like the position of a cashier more than a packer. Yes, there is more responsibility but also more pay and room for growth. You have already started your work, so do not run back and forth. Show yourself a responsible guy and then make a new resume - https://resumewritinglab.com/cashier-resume.html  I suppose they will meet you quickly. The only thing I doubt about is the period that needs to be worked out by the packer. A couple of months?
