While doing lot duty, I just happened to find a $45.00 gift card in the parking lot. I called in and checked the amount. I know that giftcards are basically untraceable, so I'm clear on that end. But, do I have to turn it in to management? Or do I just keep it?
Side note: I already spent about $1.50 on the card.
I consider the card I found as a "reward" for working my butt off. Nn

And heres proof associates are just lazy entitled common thieves. Yall are already making top dollar and these food chains youd probably steal from your own mother.

You should VALUE the customers and be honest and turn it in. But it sounds like you already decided to steal the t and spend it. oh well.
Gift cards are like cash, correct? It's not registered with someone...so there's no way you can return it. If you return to the Kroger courtesy desk if will be disposed of after 2-3 days.
If you ask around "did you lose a gift card?" you'll get a bunch of liars saying it's their card.

That being said just keep it and use it.
That being said, I'd turn it in. Who knows maybe the person will stop back and ask the person at the courtesy desk if someone turned in a gift card to lost-n-found.
If the courtesy desk manager says "just throw it away", then the Kroger courtesy desk management is the thief.
I was judging the OP, also. Who's probably just trolling anyhow - Poe's Law...
Yet I seem to remember me doing this when I found a 5-dollar bill on the floor before. I can't imagine why i'd risk my job over $5, but I reasoned it the same as someone else posted: If I turn it in, either someone's gonna lie and claim it, or no one claims it and Kroger keeps it. /shrug
