Today I was scheduled a 12pm-7pm shift. I came in early and right as I stepped through the door, they asked me to clock in because our 10am courtesy calles out. I clocked in at 10:15 am and readjusted my lunch to 2pm. (Originally scheduled to take it from 4pm-4:30). I took my lunch from 2pm-3pm. Anyways, I came back and there were carts all over the lot, I went to clock in and got greeted with a chewing out. 2 spills that needed cleaning (someone else got them... shocked that they didn't leave it), no one got liquor calls, perishables that went bad, and no one to get service outs. I did let them know I was on lunch. They said "just because I started earlier does NOT mean to extend my lunch. I STILL should have taken the half hour.
What is the damned deal? They act like I just up and left them without saying anything.

When you clocked in earlier than you were scheduled your shift should have been adjusted accordingly with the same amount of hours. Did you stay over until you were originally scheduled to clock out? Also, unless you work a shift for 9 hours or more you can't take an hour lunch.
Yep god speed. This is what happens when you work retail. I use to come in early when asked, stay over then they found some shi-tt-y reason to verbally pi-ss all over me. After enough encounters of this b.s. it stopped. Now I just work what I'm scheduled and that's it.
