I know this forum is pretty much a place to vent, but I actually like my job and my coworkers are (for the most part) amazing! Sure we are understaffed and our store manager is not nice, but those of us who work hard have a good time together. We joke around to stay sane, and help each other out. I have only been working here a couple months, but I know my fellow front-enders love me and all I do is come to work and do my job like I actually care. Anyway, I just wondered if there is anyone else here who actually likes their job or at least their coworkers?

Yes, I loved my job..............for the first few weeks. When I just now started reading your post, before I had finished your first sentence, I thought "this guy/gal is a new employee". I kept reading further and found that to be the case. Good luck, but please post again in the future and keep us updated on how well you like it at your store. (You might be one of the few very lucky ones who work at a store that is not quite as dysfunctional as most Kroger stores are)!
I do enjoy my job most days but of course there are a lot of bad days too. If I'm having a bad day, I can always count on my coworkers or a customer to help cheer me up.
Over time we have been allowed to develop as a team and the corporate psycho monster mostly leaves us alone. My coworkers are good and I will miss some of them. Really cherish some of my customers. Sadly, we have Kroger hanging over us.
My department team is currently pretty cool, although I suspect the lead is deeply and grossly incompetent.
However, how could anyone be otherwise for less than a dollar premium?
I can't figure out if it's on purpose in order to promote my department at the expense of the store, or if it's because she's just a boomer doing it for giggles.
At any rate, it's amazing how much Walmart or Amazon or McDonald's sounds better every day.
