So what does weekly testing accomplish? If you did have COVID, you would have already spread it to the other workers before getting the results. But in reality, inconvenience is what causes people to do something.
I have a feeling it will go in effect, it doesn't seem over reaching, as one infecting worker, may cause a cascade of other infections. It OSHA can mandate hardhats, worker shift limits, approved PPE, why can't they indicate employers need to take steps to prevent the spread of a somewhat highly spreadable infection. Again, people have the right to get vaccinated or not, but their actions have side effects to them an others alike. Also, with hospitals reporting 90%+ of COVID people in hospitals are unvaccinated, check, GAME, SET, MATCH.

Putting something up your nose constantly cant be good for your body.
Are they going to do this for the flu and common cold? Those spread easily too and you can die from it.
the vaccines do not work and some are getting sick and even dying from them. I dont believe their numbers saying 90% in the hospital did not take the jab. This is all an attempt to further eliminate your freedom. Dementia Joe is a tyrant.

Exactly. I am becoming increasingly convinced this is a slow-acting kill switch for population control. And they way they're stacked this game they can blame all the illnesses and deaths on the 'new variants that keep springing up' ------- and therefor keep jabbing us with more 'boosters'. Bullsh it. I'm not even getting that ball rolling, and I'm ready to to take this as far as they push me.
I hope lots of others join me, tho I'm not preaching on this.

I'm thinking people are not understand what the vaccines actually do......remember vaccines don't cure anything, they simple give your immune system a head start in what to do if you are exposed to COVID. Yes, I do slightly question if the death rate is correct, but because I'm not an EXPERT of have any knowledge of how people passed away... I can't say anything about it. Also, its funny....."putting something up your nose constantly cant be good for your body" consuming most things are not good for your body. Using this as an excuse is funny, do you smoke, drink, take OTC medication, drink soda, eat fast food......?
Question, is one persons freedom more important then mine, yours and everyone else? If your freedom doesn't allow you to take the COVID vaccine, should you be allowed to be taken to the hospital, where others with medical issues that were not preventable can't get a bed? COVID might eventually become just like the flu and common cold, but again, the flu and common cold have been around and everyone's immune system knows what to do with them. Also, I ask you this simple question, when was your local hospital ever "FULL" ?, shouldn't that be an eye opener that something is different with COVID?

My problem with the mandate is the stupidity of it all:
- As you demonstrate yourself, idiots insist on making this about the unvaccinated being the sole cause of spread... as if the jab makes it impossible to spread the virus, which is completely false. The explanation I keep overhearing people give, that "I'm doing it for others around me," is the most ignorant thing I've heard in quite a while. So in the meantime, the vaccinated don't bother getting tested because they believe they couldn't possibly spread the virus (many even believe they can't catch it or get sick from it), which just results in you all completely screwing up the accuracy of "the science" we're supposed to be following. My store's had a few vaccinated employees out with bad symptoms after testing positive.
- Idiots insist on the unvaccinated being the sole cause of variants, which is completely false. Viruses don't thrive in a dead body, they need a living host, and they need a host that isn't going to kill them. A vaccine makes it difficult for a virus to survive, as does the basic function of the human immune system even without outside aid. Many have that natural strength in immune system to fight it off, some don't. Either way, the virus is going to keep evolving until it can thrive, which means getting more and more contagious, but less and less harmful. That's how we ended up being able to live completely normal lives with bugs like the common cold and the flu. There will always be those especially weak who can't beat it, but covid-19 is here to stay won't stop being a serious threat until it isn't anymore, and the vaccine isn't the only means to that end.
- The vast majority of people being hospitalized, vaxxed or not, fall within a demographic of people with existing health problems: overweight, diabetic, smokers, old age (and therefore having a naturally weakened immune system), etc. Gotta love how the news articles can't resist mentioning that bit about most of the hospitalizations being the unvaccinated, while conveniently leaving out the other reasons they might have reached that state, huh?
- The majority of people who get covid experience mild to no symptoms. Natural immunity is being mentioned by practically no one, despite it being every bit as valid as being vaccinated.
- The vaccine is being touted by the government and mainstream media as the only way to deal with the virus, while they refuse to acknowledge other treatments such as monoclonal antibodies, and the basic vitamins that can be found in common foods to strengthen your immune system naturally before even picking up a virus. I heard Fauci was pushing the same agenda back during the AIDS epidemic: all vaccine, no treatment... you know, when he was also saying that AIDS was airborne and transmitted through "normal human relations."
Why does it then make sense to force a vaccine when so many people simply will not benefit from it?
- On a side note, the masks are just moronic. Even after Fauci's excuse of "we were just trying to save masks for the hospital workers," he's continued to say that the N95 is the only mask that does anything toward real filtration. The bottom line is that a virus is too small for a mask, especially one that isn't even sealed against your face, to make a bit of difference. The fact that sheep get uptight about people not wearing masks, while being okay with those plastic face shields or masks made of random materials, or not saying anything if it's not covering your nose, is beyond moronic. But hey, as long as something's over your face, right? Just do what you're told.
- On another side note, I overheard a guy just yesterday say that more people have died from the vaccine than the virus. There are extremist morons on both sides of the argument, and neither of you should be allowed to breed.

A cure is something you take after you get the disease. A vaccine is suppose to prevent the disease. Other vaccines are nearly 100 percent effective, and they last several years if not a lifetime. Imagine having to get booster doses every 4 to 6 months for every disease. Whatever the substance is they are injecting into people's arms it is not is a vaccine. Changing the definition of a vaccine does nothing to change that fact.
I choose to eat and drink what I want. I do not choose to have a nine-inch Q-tip shoved up into my brain
Yes, my freedom is more important than yours and vice versa. A person's health is their own responsibility. It is not up to me to see that you or your loved ones don't get sick.
I don't believe there's anything in the Hippocratic Oath that says a patient has to meet certain criteria in order to be treated. Also, there are kinds of medical emergencies that are preventable. Telling a patient they won't be treated because they didn't get the Covid vaccine is like telling an alcoholic they can't have a liver transplant because they drank too much.
I have a question. According to the mandate, employers were suppose to obtain the vaccination status of all their employees by December 5th. Did anybody from Kroger ask any of you about your vaccination status?

no. our store seems to have a 'don't ask/don't tell' policy going on. fine by me. they cover themselves, we cover ourselves

It was delayed, but expect it to be in full force and I wouldn't be surprised if they you were not allowed to clock-in/on schedule until you say YES/NO. Also, I would also expect the 2 week paid time off if positive would be eliminated for associates not getting the shot. I would expect STR MGMT will be held accountable for this and will enforce it to prevent fines..etc
According to osha.gov, they have fewer than 2000 inspectors. So they're relying on people to snitch on each other. I think they're are going to go after the smaller companies, those that are just over the 100 employee threshold. Kroger has over 400,000 employees spread all over the country. To spend time going after a company as big as Kroger just to find a few unvaccinated employees would be a waste of time and resources. Of course knowing Kroger, they'll probably volunteer the information.

Supreme Court may halt the order until the case is decided.

Exactly. the numbers are on our side: there are literally more of us than there are of them.
The real race being run here is one of money. As in outlasting their $$ resources of mandating everything. If they had their way about it we'd all still be in masks. Sheeee!t, I for one stopped that crap over a year ago, and a whole LOTTA other peeps followed my suit!
Regarding OSHA inspections, I once read the odds of that happening to any given business are once every 100 years or something like that. As stated in here, they just don't have the reach to be able to go after everyone.
I also believe that the mandate plan that Kroger's revealed, with the $50/mo testing for non-unionized workers (which includes me, and I don't see that as a big enough hit to my paycheck to quit over... depending on how long it lasts), is only there in case the federal mandate does go through; if the federal mandate is properly struck down, Kroger's mandate will probably be dropped as well. But pretty much all employers are having to put these kinds of plans in place, with how high the confusion is right now. But they're having a hard enough time keeping employees right now, and the mandate would only make things worse. For non-vaxxed workers, Kroger will probably automatically put you on the non-vaxxed list and require you to get tested if you didn't claim that $100 - because you know they kept that on record. But from the article I read (OP link? can't remember), it sounds like unionized workers won't have to pay for the tests. I also read an article today that said testing would be impossible to enforce just from the simple fact of tests not being that readily available for the tens of millions of people this mandate would affect. Supposedly only something like 65% of Walmart's workers are vaccinated, and that's a looooot of weekly tests.
I'm fine with this. We'll only loose like 3% of our staff and to be honest they are not the best workers. So I'd be fine loosing them. They have no way to get an excusal. Not religious and not medical exempt. In business that are more strict with anti maskers I feel safer because they have to prove their exemptions. If they can't they're termed.

It's hard to get mad at someone dumb enough to misspell 'losing'.
Hope you don't choke on your own spit, mouth breather

More people than ever are over this and are re claiming their lives and freedoms. It's inevitable. Communist countries are more adept at being owned, it's been in their culture forever, but here? We'll pick up weapons over a sports argument lol.
So no. You're gonna see continued waves of 'the numbers are going back up, put the masks back on and take your goddam shots!!!!', but the shock and control factor is gone. We've had two years to see there is no boogey man, and that even if you do get this stuff, you'll likely shake it off like a bad hangover in about a week and a half (that's been the consistent average I've personally seen).
At the stores in my town it's a mixture, about half n half of staff wearing v. non wearing. This includes managers, btw. As for the customers it's mostly it's old people who've equated wearing these face diapers with beating death. I can't blame them for being afraid, but I'm fed up with their snitching and bullying.
Even among the vaccinated, surveys put to business and citizens alike are showing that a huge majority of the country is against this mandate. Does "government of the people, by the people" mean nothing, for this to not have been shot down yet? Damn, this is infuriating.

Don't believe those surveys, they're bullsh!t, all part of the propaganda package we've been being beat with for two years. I have completely stopped following 'the news' and now go ONLY with what I can see and hear and measure with my own senses.
And what I'm seeing and dealing with is everyone around me sick and fed up with mandates, and ready to revolt.
The One Percenters are the Masters, the government are their slave drivers and the media are the 'house negroes' hired to handle us. Start seeing it like that and you're on your way to freedom.
Don't kid yourself. They've been bought and paid for just like the other two branches of our so-called government.
We'll keep seeing 'case reviews and rulings' on these things, probably for years to come---but funny how the results will always seems to favor further masking and vaxing mandates, but with a few small bullsh!t vague, nothing little concessions here and there.
No. This thing is going to require some of us get in trouble, get arrested and maybe even do some sentences. I've already gotten in some trouble and I'm ready to go the whole distance. Why?

I can tell you how bad and stupid it has gotten.
I know a guy who works in the health care industry.
So yea...maybe he has good reason to be cautious.
But I learned that HE HASN'T HUGGED HIS MOTHER IN MORE THAN A YEAR because of Covid-19.
I mean...what the...I just...I still have no words.

Sometimes, dumb is just dumb.
Yes. I'm having a similar problem with my mom right now. She's old and of the generation that was completely beaten down and owned by this bullsh!t and she was already terrified of dying, but the people behind this pandemic propaganda party have her convinced that those of us (like me) refusing to put this snake poison into our veins are riddled with plague (I test twice / week and have come up negative every time, but you can't re assure these people enough. You might have gotten the virus as soon as you left the test center). So far, I'm still welcome inside her home....but she won't hug me or kiss my cheek any more.
This will probably be how it goes til she dies. It's heart breaking.
