Our starbucks is so short staffed it isn't uncommon for there to be no staff for prolonged periods of time. Please stop requesting for service if the closed sign is up and no one is there.
Your goal should not be to find the closest associate. (Most likely the nearest cashier) and harass them to call the barista up. Management has requested us to tell customers if no one is there there IS TRUELY NO one there! Gone are the days when starbucks use to fine companies that failed to keep it open 100% during business hours.
I can not tell you how many people just stair at it hoping the barista will show up when in fact there's no one there. The smart ones move on after 30 seconds of waiting.
Smarter ones will read the sign and realize no one is there. Even the illiterate ones....they ask if it's open and if they are told No, they move on. It's not a hard concept. At our store, customers will stare towards the checkstands. We have signs up saying it is closed; area barricaded off, lights off etc. They STILL stare. So, with that said, we've stopped looking in that general direction. After many grunts. Huffs, and puffs, they usually leave.
I don't understand how Starbucks allowed outside organization to tarnish their name. Hell, in my area there are literally 3 Starbucks inside the same retail complex (1 Freestanding, 2 Franchise).
It won't be on account of the darn idiot baristurd that was caught red handed pulling dumb tricks on people, like contaminating drinks and charging people for food they didn't order so dopey could take it home without upsetting the books. That person is still there and you will not get your money back cause it went in the company pocket. Associating your brand with ours is always a bad move.

Too true. The cashiers get verbally harassed by customers too dumb to read a sign that 2nd graders can read. A c.c. got chewed out for 20 min about how they couldn't get a god damn coffee. I was asked by management if I wanted to be trained in starbucks and I said fu-ck no. In my minor teens I did a 10 hr a week job at a coffee stand and fu-cken hated it. people are so damn rude over their damn cofee.
