The person responsible for making sure there was enough dough available for stores to order for making King cakes goofed. They said they didn't anticipate that the demand would be so high. They said the dough would be available in the warehouse by 2/29. I'm assuming they mean 3/1 since there is no 2/29 this year. That's too late. Mardi Gras is March 1st. Last year because of Covid and a snowstorm our sales were down. However, according to our records from the year before, we sold 115 King cakes between Sunday-Tuesday of Mardi Gras weekend. This year we have enough dough to make 36 total. They also raised the price from $7.99 to $10.99. I guess they're hoping it will help lower the demand for them. It will also allow them to make nearly the same amount of money off of them by selling fewer at a higher price.
