And people wonder why kroger employees resort to theft of food. Hell, when we donate food to the food banks, and get rid of uneaten deli food, I've seen kroger assosoiates put some aside for themselves prior to taking it out for disposal.

I NEVER say anything. It's not my business and if we got DECENT wage increase then maybe it wouldnt happen so much with kroger associates stealing left over food to feed themselves and their families.

This article was basically a "hit" piece, if you want to do an article on wages, you need to look at the industry in general. Hell, did the article take into effect the "associates" prior living status, or economic situation? Also, most unskilled wages are not enough to sustain more then 1 person, is that the companies fault?

If this author wanted to do an actual article, why don't they write about the basic living expenses (housing, utilities, internet/phone, insurance, healthcare, food, etc.) and what the "living" wage should actually be. People are all about wanting people to make more money, but never willing to pay for the items they purchase to actually accomplish this. OH....and saying the companies should just make less profit, its a real answered. If a company doesn't make a decent profit, they basically die = less jobs.......

There are always people for something specific, but they never want to look past the 1st layer of the issue.

Right.  I'm glad you boys get it.

It's not that every assistant store manager should be able to rent a house.

That would be crazy.

It's that every hourly associate should never be able to own property.

I mean, this isn't Winco.

That's why hourly full time isn't even a thing anymore.
