Has anybody else gotten a phone call from Kroger about the Jif reanut butter recall? I didn't even know about it until I saw signs on the store shelves and notices on my receipts. By that time I had alread eaten 3/4 of a jar that's on the recall list. I figure if I haven't gotten sick yet, then I must be safe. So far there's only been 14 cases of salmonella reported. You know how many thousands of jars of peanut butter are being thrown away because of this? This just means one thing. The price of peanut butter is going to skyrocket.
I haven't seen a jar of JIF (any variety/size) on the shelf since the initial recall 2 weeks ago. JIF has lost/continues to lose a lot of money over the recall so, yeah, they'll definitely raise prices to make up for their loss.
