This morning I observed our store manager and the GOM and his assistant, being perplexed as to why there was so much overstock. Well its because you ordered it you big dummies. Only about .5% of the load is forced on you in our division (mainly shippers etc) and even that can be cancelled from coming in if you catch it soon enough. So what the hell are they looking at? If you order it you know exactly what you are getting. I'm getting sick and tired of this excuse that we don't order anything, Yes you do every thing that comes in is ordered. My divisions center store leader has told me that there is supposed to be an official order writer for the center store but when I ask my store manager who that is, he says we don't o that here. It's time we get rid of these store managers that are clueless, starting NOW!
I thought you were to trust the system and only adjust the issues make sure item count was correct? I find it funny how top shelves are full off cases of the same items, wasn't top shelf basically for the few items that wouldn't fit on he shelf from an open case?

Lol. You must be talking about the sky shelves. We are going to have those soon. Should be entertaining.
I and the Day grocery manager order products for dry grocery. He swears that he only orders for endcaps and sales items. I order aggressively for the paper and water aisles. The computer doesn't order enough of either. For the last two months, I walk thru the store briskly and zero stuff out that I am almost certain is not in the store. The day grocery manager and his helper walk thru the store and zero anything out. They don't bend down to look in the back of the shelf, check shippers, check backstock, check new items cart or remember what they put on the endcaps or dump bins.
In a perfect world, backstock gets ran daily. All 35 uboats. bzzt. Each day, the day crew is supposed to run and scan backstock for certain aisles to fix bohs and allocations. bzzzt. For the last 10 years, daycrew was supposed to do a store scan to gather a replenishment list. bzzt, hasn't happened in 8 years. Night crew is supposed to leave on time and daycrew will finish the work. bzzzt, happens half the time and we still get called lazy. No one ever realizes what gets done overnight, just what didn't get done.
Now, I am told with the new sky shelves, someone will be going thru the store daily and replenishing everything from the top shelf. Ha. Some of the shelves will possibly be as high as 12 feet. Short people dominate the employee roster.
Only open cases and single items under 10 pounds are allowed on the top shelf. Full unopened cases are to be placed on a backstock uboat.

lol, just wait.... I have seen pictures of backrooms empty after the new shelves are installed, they think anything in the backroom is lost sales basically, and should be able to be worked to the shelves. Just wait there will be so many random items and full cases stocked on the top.

Yup. Kcups should be the best.
I saw skyshelves for the first time 2 years ago. I think the store was a practice store. Corporate wanted everything hand stacked on the top shelf. It made no sense to hand stack single roll paper towels. I am 6 foot and still needed a very tall rolling ladder to reach the products. All the top shelves were a mess. Very little organization. It is a great idea if some one actually fixes the bohs, allocations and replenishes daily like it is supposed to be done. Even better if the warehouse stopped mis picking products.
Yup managers are clueless, lazy. blame shifting and just flat out worthless. They spend more time talking to customers and other lazy managers than actually working and doing their job.
