Has anyone else noticed that several customers have lost their social skills during covid? It's like they never recovered and frankly some have gotten worse. The karens have gotten worse and frankly more difficult to deal with. People struggle in basic courtesies, manners and basic politeness.
I've had to tell off professionally a few people to stop harassing us about how every cashier is stupid and doesn't know their job nor how to do it. It's like customers just assume every employee is stupid and under trained. These karens that think this can f* off.
not to negate your points but it's not hard to believe that employees are untrained at wage-slave corporations. typically they are. at my store i see new people everyday. i'm used to getting unsure or mixed answers. so if it's something i need i tend to ask for a manager
This applies to absolutely everyone (I think). People massively lost the habit of working in the office from communicating in public places, stopped going to cinemas. The only thing that pleases me is that the Internet has partially replaced the usual communication there. I discovered this kind of social networks - https://www.together2night.com/portland-personals.html It would be great if the usual stores just switched to a remote format and door-to-door delivery.
I worked retail 2001---2016 and just in those years I saw a flow chart plummet in social skills. I took abuse from these ass hats that today would get their teeth knocked in. C u n t omers truly believe we're beneath them and are there to not just serve them like slaves, but take what ever abuse they can't otherwise vent on people who can fight back. Retail and restaurant service---hell, public service of any kind---has become so bad you gotta seriously question your sanity for wanting any part of it.

Customers are saying their relative(s) passed away from covid-19 leading to their depression-anger outburst. Customers desire high class courtesies and manners...if customers don't have their high class courtesies and manners met regardless how nice you are.. they will lie and complain. Once employee reach that courtesy and manners that these customers want...same customers will tear you down.
