How many drunks does your store have? If you notice people coming in multiple times a day don't hesitate to cut them off.

We have multiple regulars and they're in twice an hr trying to buy liquor. Don't hesitate to cut them off even if they get pi-ssy about it. Remember your job is more important than some drunk being an @$$ over their liquor addiction. Additional penalties include: $5,000 fine, loss of job, if sever enough and the drunk causes an accident you could be held liable for selling it to them. Thus you could incur jail time or additional penalties.

Due to the 21 by pass button being disabled by kroger you need to scan a license even if 90 year old grandpa/grandma is being a di-ck over it. No exemptions.

That's not really a problem.

Our booze prices are too high.  They've always been too high, and it means more than ever in this economy.

Walmart and Winco are significantly cheaper, and gas stations are more convenient.

Liquor stings only occur at the service desk, SCO, and onsite fuel.  The checkstands and any other departments are golden.

Bypass buttons don't mean anything.  Retards struggle to type in their own birthday, but Chads type in 11111999.

At a Walmart in my town, years ago there was a late night when some bum came struttin down to the liquor dept., grabbed a big bottle of something, and was headed back up front with it. Staff were yelling at him to drop it, it was way past liquor sales time, but he ignored them. A cop came at him. Dude brandished the bottle like a war club---ran RIGHT AT THE COP and damned near bashed his brains in with it. Cop was in surgery for 19 hrs getting bone fragments pulled outa his BRAIN.

Yea.. people gon get they drink on, bet.

I'm not sorry, I don't mind saying this but I find this hard to believe.  I think this "cop" was one of those hands off security people. The kind that cant touch those stupid shoplifters because evileye "Ouuhh durka-dee if you physically stop me and I get hurt because of my stupid problem with theft, I'll sue durrrrh evileye.

Where as a cop would have put that bum in his place right away. Bottle or no bottle.

Not sorry either, idgaf if u believe me or not, but your stupid ass is worth putting in place just cuzza your tone.

The cop had finished his shift so was still in uniform. As for what you think a 'real cop' would have done in that situation? Well, you've never been in that, have you? Plus, it didn't help that this guy was new to the force so he wasn't seasoned yet. And this psycho ran at him top speed. What happened to him could easily happen to anyone.

Not you tho, you're too dumb to even be a cop.

And now, off with you. yawn

We have quite a few bingers that try to waddle in late evening.  Thankfully, because of the area of Los Angeles my store is in, the off-duty volunteers usually stop them.  They aren't PSPP, these are cops that come in after their regular shift, or volunteer for doing it from the local station.  The program is a thing to have real cops because shoplifting and vandalism is BAD and people blow off security guards by taking advantage of the fact they can just make a run for it.  I've had to give a cashier the no sale gesture, if I was bagging and smelled it on them and watch them get dragged outside and cuffed.  You are not passing through checkstand with that product if you smell like you just came from the bar.

Thank you very much for this sound reminder.  Its the law in California here.  I'm sad to hear the stings don't happen as they should.  Selling to an visibly intoxicated person is a heavy fine and jail time, and could risk your store's liquor license, as well as lead up to and include your termination as well as criminal liability for your actions as a cashier or witnessing front end associate who said nothing here -- not to mention the guy at the front door arresting you.  There are random sting operations here, very similar to the secret shoppers that rate and review associate performance from the Department of Tobacco, Alcohol, and Firearms that issues the license.  They will not inform management when they come in, usually.  Thankfully, they do sting all components of front end here, because its a serious problem in the city.  The only ones they do inform are the cops at the door, and they aren't allowed to tell us when.
