What is the most stolen/shoplifted item in your store?

Sunday night two young (probably underage kids) tried to steal two bottles of those mini-Bota Box wines that we sell for around $7.00. They were confronted by our security guard, who dropped the items and they ran out of the store. They then got into a fight with a customer at the fuel center who witnessed one of the kids trying to take several energy drinks. Anything like this happen in your store?

One of the stores in my town recently hired a 'security guard'. What a joke. Tall but skinny as sht, he stands in one spot over by produce and spends mst of his time scrolling his phone. The hilarious part is he's got a pair of cuffs hanging from his belt.

Yea.. I keep stealin sht right under his nose. Actually no where near his nose. I'm at the scos on the other end of the store while he's guarding the banana wall lol

Beer and visa gift cards.

Generally we get people getting pissy over prices and only want to pay half the bill when it's due. there's a lot of financial fraud in grocery. By not paying the full bill it is also a form of theft.

People often scan all their at sco and fail to pay. They think the items scan but it doesn't recognize it. But I scanned it? Well sorry the computer didn't recognize it.

 Everything and anything.

A customer grabbed an cashier's hand and tried to pulled the hand into the plastic bag.

Not the same thing here, but..

Product demand is absolutely manipulated and controlled. Don't believe for one second this bullsht about 'supply chain shortages'.

I can't break down all the details for you, we're not supposed to know. But it's damn fool obvious by now how and why this sht is really happening. It started with that fake ass plan-demic. And we've been sheeped along ever since.

That's why I turned into a pathological THIEF. This has actually been the single greatest financial game plan I've ever invested in biggrin

Original poster here. My closing manager told me our store is #1 in our region for shoplifting, and he said it is the "kind of people who come into the store." You can read into that what you will.

..............and that's hilarious to me, because if you saw me you'd see I don't fit any visual sterotype of anything accept suburban white guy.

Yet I do 60-70% of my shopping for free. And it's not because I'm greedy or 'getting a kick' from it, it's because the rich people and corporations who rule the world are squeezing us to death with their price gouging. Mine isn't a 'get rich scheme'; it's a me 'surviving with enough cash left over for the future to not be on the street' strategy .

You can make of that what they will.

In general they say most theft is from employees not customers. Also its very hard to know actual demographics on who is stealing, if someone puts something in their pocket and walks out door without getting caught.  Your just assuming a demographic

Prepandemic was alcohol and clothing. Pandemic-almost everything. It's been clothing, big items, and some food.

Is there a reason to be stealing desitin? Like 6 boxes were opened and just throw in the shelf.

Beer, wine, age restricted items. Too many under aged people steal these.

Gum, pocket able items are also very highly stolen. I see too many girls steal gum every night. Yet we can't tell them to empty their pockets.

Baby formula. This is why this sh--it had to be locked up.

TGC cards. Grown a$$ men were fighting over them. One got arrested while the other went to the hospital with pending assault charges. That's why companies pulled them for a while. Good **** it's just a card.

Sco encourages a lot of theft. I swear about 1/2 of society can not follow clearly written and verbal 1,2,3 instructions. Most fight the program and make the experience 50 times more difficult. Sco encourages a lot of miss scans with the program so that too creates a lot of theft. Just because it gives the beep doesn't mean it got it. People fake scan a lot of stuff. Yes it's theft. If you ring your self up for a lesser item but it was in fact something else congrats you just stole from the company.

Beer/alcohol, Tide, steak, frozen crab legs, baby formula, chargers/earphones. We're a marketplace store in da hood so, our least stolen items are work boots and condoms.

No way would that ever be acceptable for me. Stealing goes against the 7th commandment for me so I'm stuck. I don't wanna have to confess that to the priest either lol

Tide
Tide Pods
Gain
Downy Unstoppables
Huge containers of Dove bodywash
Airwicks (all different kinds)
Beer
Red Bull (big cases)
Steaks, Lobsters, Chicken
Sometimes frozen foods
Fireworks
Baby food jars, diapers, formula...
Oh... and the totes and reusable bags we sell to conceal them with

Sometimes I can tell what their intentions are just by looking at their cart.

I hit Kroger a lot too, but WM is by far my fave. They make it so easy to steal it's almost like they want me to.

The trick is two-fold: blend in with the crowd and look natural, and don't be greedy. I'll walk out with an average of $15. worth. It's helpful there are multiple stores of the same chain in a given town, that way you don't stand out.

And I stay away from popular items that what ever LP of the store is focusing on ('LP', what a joke).

Again, I'm not the least sorry. I'm an opportunist exploiting capitalism, and getting what I can while I can, before all retail goes to online / curb dash only. You think this price gouging bullsh!t is gonna stop or even slow down?? Just the opposite. The world's richest's greed level is completely out of control and to the point of just hurting them, but they don't see or believe it.

Ima keep gettin MINES biggrin

Kroger owes me so I steal lots to make up for what They owe me. Like some one above said stay away from focused items and youre golden. There is this vanilla type bean in a bottle that cost 24 bucks! Ive taken 2 of them and Had my girl return them cause shes so nice and people just give in. We used the credit for more free food and things. One of her friends had a baby shower so we loaded up in diapers destin wipes pacifiers and baby food. All free ! Took about 4 trips but it was worth it. And if the self checkout machines dont pick up the item scanned not my fault I scanned it. thx kroger

yeah except you're obviously a ****ing retard so instead just be aware that you have not outwitted anybody, you simply just are not worth prosecuting because stealing 15 dollars of food from a kroger doesnt affect profits in any measurable way. you might as well be bragging about how youre not a slave to anyone ever since you started stealing wadded up toilet paper from the customer bathroom.
