No hate but they love hiring high schoolers but now that school is starting soon and they going back they been moving us college kids and older folks to help out other departments and our own department needs help.
Feel that. I worked retail for a lotta years and repeatedly saw what you said. In the retail / restaurant industry these moves are perfectly understandable and best benefit the business. Of course the workers don't like it, but they're easier to replace than kleenex.
I mean, the very idea that a grocery chain should have a union is ridiculous to me. It's unskilled labor. Literally anyone can do it.
They love hiring cheap help. They know most of these kids will leave within a couple years and have high turn over. Thus repeating the cycle of minimum wage pay to employees.
Yes it is infuriating frustrating working with high schoolers. I have found the bulk of them hold no concern, desire or will to work with decent moral values. Most of them are bad at the job and slack off. Thus putting a bad rep on those that actually do work and have strong work morals.

I recently got hired here. a bit nervous and Im also a virgin and advice?
Yeah. Don't turn this into a d@mn troll post.
But back on topic: we hire high schoolers as well. The best thing about it is, when they go back to school or get let go (for no-calls/no shows, poor work habits, etc) then the extra hours are given to those who actually work or want to work

Thats pathetic you justifying Hours being given back after those hours being taken away and given to part time seasonal workers who dont even care. No respect for Kroger
