Anybody else's stores having trouble finding bakers and decorators for their bakery department? We have one baker who's going on vacation. They just hired someone who can only work early morning hours and he has some experience working in a bakery. He was suppose to train to bake but he decided he didn't want to learn. We have another fairly new employee who's decided they can only work early morning hours but doesn't want to train on how to bake either. We also have just one cake decorator. We have to turn down orders when she goes on vacation. Apparently other stores around us have the same problem. We frequently get calls from customers say we're the third, fourth, fifth etc. store they've called trying to place a cake order. They say all the other stores said they didn't have a decorator.
Sounds similar to my deli dept at work. I work GMC but we are shorthanded in deli. It's so bad that they literally went on a hunt for ME on last Friday, EVEN THOUGH I told them I had to work Clicklist. Jbkept saying I couldn't go over there at the moment, but IF I had time, I would TRY. Well guess who went over... *jumps up and down* me!
And I'm NOT trained proper to make sandwiches
I just know how to pull food from the hit case and input the code...tests it.
They obviously didn't give a flying f*ck, because when I told them about hiring for the deli I got this blank stare and an agitated sounding "We know."
This Friday coming I'm gonna hope I can go into stealth mode and stay away from deli. Even if I have to say im courtesy clerk.
