I told him No and he said Im one of their best day shift workers who can finish a pallet in 20-30 mins. Total 8 pallets done before I clock out.
He ask me first if I wanted to work night shift because he needs me and I blankly said Night shift doesnt do their job due to how the shelves be looking empty and pallets be stack high still. Then he me about dairy leaf which I then decline. Dairy only have 4 people the fourth guys works 6pm-4am.
Was I wrong for saying no? I feel uneasy but I heard lead is hard.
Go with your gut. You'd be walking into a sh!t show of which there'd be total expectation for you to 100% fix all your given department's problems----and sanctioned when you didn't.

I have to agree with the first two responses because not only will they expect you to do the job of the dairy lead but they'll also expect you to do the same work you've been doing on top of all that. I've learned from watching others crash and burn that you should never accept a lead position unless you bring it up first. If they just come to you and ask you out of the blue and you've never had any desire to be a lead, then your answer should be no.

Not worth it. They dont appreciate anything you will do. No bonus no better pay just more work.
