Well, a few weeks ago I was in my old workplace Kroger. As always, no shopping carts in the lobby. They were all out on the lot. One of the Assistant Managers was barking orders at a few courtesy clerks. She was talking loud enough I heard her say to them "If you do it the way I am telling you it works." I guess she meant bringing in carts. Does she not know there is only one way to bring them in and that is just bring them in.
I mean for real she was wasting their time she could have been helping them. I know there are several people who just sit on their ass at this store. They could schedule more clerks for the lot they cry because they do not have help. But I know for a fact that some days there is only one courtesy clerk scheduled during the day. And there are courtesy clerks that want to work but are not scheduled.
I went today and parked by the cart corral, and it was the same I knew there would be no shopping carts, so I got one from the corral it was overflowing. And I was right I no carts in the lobby. Today is Tuesday and use to Tuesday would be the slowest day of the week. Still no excuse for not scheduling help carts do not bring their self in. When I was walking out that same fussing Manager was out by the corral, I did not hear exactly what she said to one of the courtesy clerks. She did way something to him. I heard him say I am going home, and he started walking toward the side of the building.
I do not blame him at all I am glad he is not going to take shi t from her. I got tired of it also and that is why I quit. I did try to go back after that gumby manager left but I was turned down looks like someone upstairs was doing me a favor maybe by garden Angel my sister in Heaven.

Go ahead and try the joke is on you. I no longer work for Kroger I have been gone since 2019.
Work ethic was already on the ropes before the plan-demic, and when that hit and decimated everything everytwhere, what we had when we came back was this:
* Huge available jobs / hrs reduction
* Lower wages
* All these companies found they could get by with less workers? Well, a lot of workers found they could get by without jobs
* ....and this ^: ass hat managers leading through fear and intimidation, terrorizing the dwindlingly few who choose to stick around for this bullsht.
At a time when there should be nothing but incentives and rewards everywhere in the work place, the approach instead is to keep running people off. I'm down almost to the home stretch before retirement now, and I seriously can't fking WAIT. ---Oh, Ima keep working as long as I can, but it'll be my schedule on my terms, and how sweet it gon be knowing I can always laugh and say 'y'know hwta? FK yall, I'm tail lights!!'
