I hate to say it but Kroger is right: Valid id or no sale. Only manual entries should be: valid: tribal id's, passports and refusal to scan. Everyone else = scan id.
Other companies: Target, Safeway, Walgreens... have taken this rule seriously for years. Kroger got a little too sloppy allowing their associates a quick by-pass button. After 2+ decades of being bypassed for age restricted items; customers are now realizing the hard truth about the liquor rules. Kroger should of done this decades ago be hard @$$es about the rules.
My job is more important than some customer being a di-c-k over this rule.
Sorry, it's not my fault you forgot to bring your id to the store to buy liquor.
Sorry, it's not my fault your id expired 3+ yrs ago.
Sorry, it's not my fault you're 55+ and offended by this. We've heard all the rhetoric. Just end it. This new rule is permanent.
Why is kroger scanning id's now? Too many associates at Fred Meyer failed liquor stings. They're literally on the verge of loosing their license. No kroger doesn't collect your data. Stop this b.s. conspiracy theory. Sue kroger if you don't believe me. I bet you your case will be tossed out really quickly.
