Former Employee Kicked Out Due To Lousy Attitude
Permalink

Almost a year ago my store hired a guy for a courtesy clerk position. He seemed okay at first until time went on and he started to show how he really was on the job. His more "interesting" key points were this.

He just had to have his breaks and lunches as scheduled. That doesn't always happen on the front end.

He didn't want to get carts or do any cleaning. You signed up for the job, you do what the job entails.

He wanted to hit on the females. A couple of them are lesbians. Not only that, but the stuff he said creeped them out and bordered on harassment.

He's a pedophile. One of the courtesy clerks is a 17-year-old. And he tried to hit on her. And he's in his 30's.

He wanted to work whatever shift he decided on. Again you signed up for the job.

It all came to a final, ignominious blow for him when he did three no call no shows about a week ago. The third one happened when I was at  work on an opening shift and I was assigned utility. He comes in to the back where I was at on his phone griping about how his shift was magically changed on him. He complained about it to the front desk and left. I went out for carts later and told the front desk that should this guy not show up I would do both cart shifts. The hour came and no sign of him,, no call in, nothing. It was pretty much sealed when his girlfriend, who is a senior citizen with 10+ kids, called the store and cussed out the floor supervisor up one side and down the other. All of us, especially the front end, are happy that he's gone and hope that management put him down as do not hire. No one needs to put up with someone like him.

OP here. Not in the state I live. And I should also mention that when he didn't get his way he would run off and hide somewhere in the middle of his shift so he could cry his eyes out.

Don't you mean fartnite? Lol jk. All joking aside, we have a training center at our store and if he wanted to be on his phone he would sit in the training center. Not surprisingly he was caught several times.

This is legal according to the standards kroger expects from it's employees. Employees sign papers that dictate how they should behave and what the company expects of them. Chances are you violated these policies too many times. I've seen employees written up on these policies time and time again. Thanks to krogers firing process it takes about 2 years to fire someone. So you must of been riding on very thin ice for a long time.

How exactly did you assume that I'm the culprit? Please reread my original post slowly and carefully. And while you are, ask yourself why would someone who is like the person I was posting about brag about their stupidity in one form or another?
