I've been thinking of transferring. Since 2019 (covid start) my store has literally only had enough cashiers to have only self check out open. People sure get pis--sy about this.
Long lines, verbal harassment from customers that refuse to go through it.
Verbal harassment from customers that refuse to take a large order through sco because they don't believe you.
Seniors and anti technology customers that cuss their way through the whole transaction....
I've had multiple karens (age doens't matter) be dic--ks about the tiniest details.....
I mean the list goes on. I've put in a transfer to a store where it isn't bare bone staff. I warned them if they refuse the transfer I'll file a union grievance as we're not slaves.
This is a high grossing location and I'd never thought I'd see the day when it was actually failing because no one wanted to work there.
This is one of the very intended effects the Great Plandemic brought upon us. There are numerous off-shoot and unforseen consequences too, but creating a huge employee desert and turn-over culture was 100% the intention.
'Nobody wants to work!!' No. Nobody accepts working like this-----open availability only and part time / no benefits employment. That has become far more prevalent than people realize.
Enough time has passed that companies are now seeing how nicely they're getting by without all that pesky payroll they'd been having to shell out. It's fast becoming pure profit for them. That's a dream goal for any business.
It aint changin' andy time soon, either.
Those of you close to retiremnet, hang on tight and do your best: the ride's gonna get rough.
All the rest? Get the hell out and find something better. Life is hard enough by itself, don't invite problems.

Maybe that is the problem with Kroger. Everyone is doing their standards less than expected. Eventually, we end up with a bunch of lazy people staring at each other and doing nothing.

Just remember who initiated the race in the first place----the Super Rich who own and control everything. I truly believe they weren't anticipating this level of apathy and laziness.
