We have no baker and no cake decorator. They both got fed up with management and quit.
What are yall going to do? Do anyone else in that department know how to do any of those? I understand management is terrible.
They quit because management refused to honor any of their time off requests that weren't vacations. There was only one baker and one cake decorator. When the cake decorator went on vacation, everyone was told not take any orders. When the baker went on vacation, the only bread that got put out was the artisan bread and stuff that came in pre-made. There used to be more than one cake decorator and more than one baker, but those numbers got reduced due to things like retirement, quitting, and unfortunately in one case, a death following a short illness. Management has done nothing to replace those people and it's been like that for over a year. So management's attitude is you want off Sunday four weeks from now? You can't have it. Need this day off? Nope, you can't have it.

If everyone else quit from bakery management will run like headless chicken.
This is how Kroger will ultimately become just like Walmart----no specialty departments, everything pre packaged and, eventually, NO UNION.
Believe me: H.O. knows this and is deliberately creating the culture in their stores to make it happen.
I've heard from someone who works at corporate that Kroger is in financial trouble. That's why they're trying to merge (buy out) with Albertsons. They're hoping the extra income from the Albertsons stores will offset the investment they put into it. The whole thing is due to greed and mismanagement. CEO's like Rodney only care about their salary and bonuses. They don't care if they run the company into the ground. As long as they get rich, that's all that matters.
I'll tell you what department has fallen apart: dairy! Have you seen the amount of weiners laying around that department?! When someone leaves weiners in dairy, it's like they just lay there indefinitely. Do better dairy!
