Help us get EBT, Section 8, and SSI. If we are going to be paid slave wages, get us slave benefits.
In my state, as far as I can tell, every single non-management employee qualifies for both EBT and Section 8. And maybe lower management too though.
And SSI for a lot of us.
Even Walmart has specific services to help their employees apply for and achieve Section 8 and EBT. You know, so Uncle Sam can pay them rather than Uncle Walton. Think about their shareholders.

The plastic bags are terrible now. I have to double bag everything. Things like large cereal boxes just cut right through them.
Just increasing labor would help. I have 5 people including myself in my department. If we have 10 - 12 people in total it would be solid.
Our bakery manager was told the bakery had too many hours. So they moved one of our people to the deli. We have 192 hours this week and they say that's still too much. We need at least 320 hours a week for everything to look good and run smoothly. Today we had three people. One person did the donuts, baked the bread, retrieved and put away the frozen food order, and did the breakout for tomorrow's bake. Another person did cake orders and filled the cake cases. The third person bagged the bread, did markdowns, put the orders on, did all the stupid pointless scans, and filled tables as much as time allowed. Cookies, pies, croissants, etc. none of that stuff got baked. There was nobody to do it and nobody to package it. The store manager came by and wanted to know why we didn't half pudding cakes. There's only the three of us and we each already have enough on our plates and she's worried about half pudding cakes? So she ended up doing them. That just proves we aren't given enough hours. Management isn't suppose to be doing union jobs. The two co-managers were doing Click List orders. Maybe if enough people company wide file grievances when they see managers doing union jobs, the company might increase the labor budget.

I go to Walmart the bags are the same. They will break if too heavy. I go to a local owned Piggly Wiggly and the bags are very strong.
It isn't really possible for normal single adults to work here anymore.
Rent is up at least 40% pre-covid while pay is the same.
Full-time is only for teenage girls in management until their boyfriends complain about their random bullspit schedule and how little they are contributing.
TERRIBLE one bedroom apartments are $1400+.
Low-level management qualifies for EBT, WIC, and Section 8.
Scheduling is so poor and random that no one can hold a second job unless they don't sleep.
But terrible random clopening shifts mean NOT EVEN THEN.
Being that regular employment and regular pay is impossible here, I got the idea to pay rent on my credit card. Get some points. Sweet.
