Cut hours, time clocks, and theft of hours, etc.

Kroger is such trash. Been here 5 and a half years. 2 people in my department who have been there around 1 and 2 years have been allowed to get 40 hours/full time just because they were friends with the manager. No one asked me if I wanted full time. I had the perfect schedule 9-5 x 4 = 32 hours.

Then they gave us all a raise, then they cut all our hours. Now i'm working 14?! 18? 21? etc. The two people who unfairly got full time are stealing all the hours. Most of our people are only getting 12 hours. People are quitting left and right, at least that's freeing up more hours for me.

BUT what's happening is they make a fake schedule, say you work 1-5 but they really want you to work 9-5.  OK, that's one thing. SO, you never f%^$$# know when you're coming in to work until that morning. OK, when do I go to bed? When do I wake up? When do I come to work?

Then you come in early, and guess what?!!! The time clock tells you, you're early, sorry can't let you clock in!!! I clock in and it's says too early, then it doesn't even record the time I clocked in, and then every ^%#^ day the lady has to go in and fix your schedule, and every &^$%%%^ day you have to go in and fix your schedule. Then she just puts in the time that you were scheduled to come in. SO you worked 9-5, but now it's locked in at 1-5. SO Kroger is basically trying to make me work for free whenever I come in early. Oh, it's a nice little scam!!~!!!!!~!~!~!~!~!~!1@!@

Then I look at this week. I came in early on Sunday, but they just said I came in at 1 instead of 10:30. Then for the next day I came in at 9 instead of 1, but they took the time I clocked out and put that in for the time I clocked in also which means I would get paid for ZERO hours. I worked like 10:30 to about 5, then about 9-5 and it says I worked 4 hours!!!! Wow, I work 10 hours for free. Nice little scam!

TL;DR area:
Imagine a company so dumb that they think no one comes in to work early and decides that you shouldn't even be allowed to clock in early, because why would you ever come to work early?!!! And it's really just a scam to steal hours from you and make you work for free. Most people don't even look at their time clock exceptions and so they are getting ripped off constantly!

And just like everything at Kroger, no one cares, and no one is going to do anything about this. Nothing ever gets fixed.

If all that's true, then you need to contact your state's department of labor and file a complaint.  It's illegal not to pay someone for the hours they've worked, even if they weren't approved.  Kroger can cut your hours and yell at you for working too much, but they cannot refuse to pay you for the hours you actually work.

Is that your answer for everything??? Good grief!!!

There were actually several lawsuits regarding people who didnt get paid their rightful amount, if they were paid at all for some weeks! If the OP is correct on all these complaints, he or she is just trying to get what is rightfully his or hersAnd if someone isnt getting paid properly, they should complain! Maybe the union should get involvedThe union reps came to our store recently to discuss some grievances with certain members and said that this compensation issue had affected quite a few employees and that making sure people get their money was a priority for them, so definitely it should be brought up with a union rep

American unions are, in their way, even more corrupt than politicians. They're the ultimate double-dippers.

If you really believe for one second they're representing and protecting you, you're still Santa Claus snd Toothfairy eligible.

They're crooked as F U C K

Recognizing your problem is the 1st step.

Now that you know of it, stop doing it! biggrin
