I found a way to reduce my PPH (Picks per hour) when doing three e-comm shopping. When I Scan onto the Zebra and select my order, I pick thr order as usual. Then I unassign myself from the order making it 'available.' I wheel the trolly to the back by our station, log vack in to "pick the order" scan it out and bag it. Today it took me 2m 30sec to complete a 14 item order.
Also with OOS (Out of stocks) what I do is if a customer has a sub-free order (absolutely NO subs wanted), I still put subs in. Let me put in perspective.
1. A customer asks for an 18 Oz bottle of Jiff Peanut and it says DO NOT SUB on the notes section and they want a 10 Oz jar of store brand mayo again, NO SUBS)
For the Jiff peanut butter, I will give them a 36oz jar and charge them for the 18oz price.
For the mayo, I will give them the name brand mayo 10 0z and charge them the store brand price. That way it will "improve our oos, and the customer still gets what they want.

Actually, the customer doesn't get what they want when you do that. It's one thing to substitute a smaller size with a larger size of the exact same brand of product, but it's another thing when you try to substitute one brand for another. To you, all mayo might taste the same. The customer might disagree and think the store brand tastes better. If I ask for Kroger Deluxe cookies and cream ice cream no substitutions, it does not mean I want Turkey Hill brand or Homemade brand or any other brand regardless of what price I pay for it. I've tried them all and I like the Kroger Deluxe the best. Customers are specific about what brand they want for a reason.
Also, it technically does nothing for the oos. All it does it screws up the ordering system. If the store brand mayo is out of stock and you get the name brand and charge the same price, the system still thinks you have the original product on hand and will not show it as oos. This is especially true for items that are on automatic order when it gets to a certain number. In other words, rather than order the missing item, it will order the full stock item instead adding to your inventory. Now you'll have more of the product than you need, eventually forcing you to do a clearance on the extra product, or donating it.thus causing money loss. What I would do is text te customer and ask if they want a sub for the lesser price. Let them make the call.
But the pph workaround you do is pretty cool though.
