Who else out there is being told that corporate will be writing the schedules from now on, and that department managers will not have much say over the schedules or the policy? Secondly, Ive seen this kind of thing beforeDidnt work out too well, either, as everyone has different availabilities (second job, school hours, etc.)And no one knows those things better like your department manager does, because that person writes that schedule week in, week outIf any of you are dealing with this, hows that working out for you? All I know is that whenever corporate gets involved in stuff like this, it causes more chaos, confusion and complaints, rather than conformityAnd with a union company, probably a great deal of grievances filedIm sure I dont know the half of it!

In any case, what are the rest of you hearing or seeing? And hows the morale in your store with the changes? Ive seen more people rattled and upset and these are people who are normally cool, calm and collectedBut, its probably a lot of thingsAnd not just this

There are already too many unrealistic demands, but I wonder how those demands are met when people get fed up and leaveWeve had people retire and were informed that those people would not be replacedHowever, the same demands are expected as if the people were still thereSo, when everyone decides to leave, how do they expect those demands to be met? Will A.I. do your job? Thats hardly feasible in a business like grocery where customer interaction and prompt attention to detail is a must

And its hard enough to find competent, qualified people when competitive businesses are dangling bigger carrots in front of them

These are very interesting (and head-scratching) times, indeedconfuse

The people running the show now idiots. Kroger has a knack for taking the simplest task and turning it into a problem It's always been bad but it's gotten a lot worse ever since they switched from using RF units to using the Zebras. It seems like they're always coming up with some new count or scan for us to do. I do wonder about what qualifications these people had to get the job they have. Were they the best person for the job, or did they check off a box?

This rumor goes around sometimes.  Who knows is a good question.  No one will admit to making schedules or take responsibility for anything.  F 'em.
