Our lead writes the schedule. He posts it and approves it. Then gets crabby as hell over it when he reads it on the wall. He goes no no and starts penciling in and shifting things around like 2 days before the schedule is to occur. Multiple times he's penciled me in for shifts on approved pto and vacation months in advance. I'm calling the union and asking about this. Asking if a grievance should be filed and when.
Our department is 2 active employees + lead. We're always going to be short staffed always shorted staffed. Time off or not. Our department is falling a part a bit but we're allowed pto and day off requests. These scheduling issues have been happening since our lead took over. 5 months of this bs is enough.
If you pencil me in I am just going to cross it off. I have a life out side of work. I have appointments, dr appts, I'm not working my whole life at work if financially I do not need it.
When vacations are approved back in March or April, they cannot be changed without the approval of both management and employee. Personal days must also be given unless someone else in the department is on vacation that week or someone in the department with more seniority has also requested a personal day that week. A regular day off request does not have to be honored.
