Once you people realize that the staffing issue at kroger isn't you're problem you'll be a lot happier. Remember just show up, do the bare minimum, know your boundaries as to not get in trouble, do the bare minimum and leave. If there's still work to be done it's not your problem! It's kroger's issue.
Show up get paid leave. That's all you gotta worry about.
Our department leader and back up will call or text and ask how things are going while they are on vacation. Not me. When I'm on vacation, you won't see or hear from me until the day I'm due back.
Im loyal to my coworkers. Not the company. If my coworkers need me to stay a few extra minutes to give them a bathroom break or because someones running 5 min late, Ill do it.

I used to be that way, but not anymore. They've cut hours in our department so much sometimes it's just two people: an opener and a closer. If you need to take a break or lunch, the department simply has to go unmanned while you're gone.

Customer service is the only thing that keeps these dumps from looking like what they are: a racket run by gangsters. Until you get a real job, you suffer. Be the one who cares. Then leave.

Thats dumb lol
By coworkers I mean those who actively work alongside me. Micro-managemen isnt included. Im loyal to the people Im suffering with.
Every year it seems in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area, Kroger makes a big deal of how they are going to hire 10,000 people. Only problem is that we never have come close to that amount-there are too many other better employers out there (Publix, CVS, Walgreens to name a few.) Even if someone is hired many times they stay for several months then quit.
