I am so sick of full time and this started out as a health insurance job. Unlike others I do not really need the income from the job but it is nice to have it. Work fights me for requesting so much time off be it paid or not. Knowing vacation cashes out it will supplement the difference. I tried to vocally quote how short staffed we are but they don't give a sh---it. The only way I have found that I keep my call outs down is if I request 3-4 days off once a month. Other months I request a lot of 32 hr work weeks. Boy our lead gets frustrated. Well hire some damn staff and stop working us to exhaustion. It is clear kroger is just exploiting the help it has.
I work picklist and they loose their sh it if I refuse to take a half hour lunch or come back early to deliver an order or shop one that's turning itself a deep shade of red because it's going to be late.
I've gotten to taking my lunch outside to where I can't hear calls for delivery or to come back to begin shopping an order.
I've gotten glares for "not hearing" these calls and even some customers are watching me come back into the store whilst waiting for their pick up. As if that's going to male me come back in any earlier.
